EVE Fanfest 2008
The Fifth Annual Party at the Top of the World November 6 - 8

A Party Like No Other… Join us at the top of the world for the ultimate party: the 2008 Fanfest, held in our hometown of Reykjavik, Iceland. This is the best experience of EVE Online: your chance to meet the people behind the avatars in person, including friends and foes alike from the battlefield, plus the CCP Devs. Catch an inside glimpse of what's in store for EVE; participate in live PVP tournaments; and, if you dare, venture out into the world-renowned Reykjavik nightlife afterwards!

Just like last year, Fanfest will be held at the epic Laugardalshöll in the Laugardalur Valley section of Reykjavik. A list of Icelandair world departure points and Fanfest packages can be found here.

Access passes are no longer available online but will be sold at the information desk.

Fanfest is a celebration of EVE for players from all over the world who love the game enough to travel to an absolutely beautiful, wondrous place to meet others who share their passion. International friendships and rivalries alike have been forged because of EVE Online; this is a chance to meet those who have contributed to your gaming experience in person. In addition, the CCP Devs will be mingling with the crowd, ready to discuss anything about the game you like.

Of course, they will be more inclined to consider your plea to renounce the latest nerf over a glass of Black Death.

Iceland is an once-in-a-lifetime destination vacation. The Sisters of EVE Program will give your partner a chance to visit Iceland along with you: while you discuss the nuances the Carrier nerf with fellow corpmates, they can enjoy two days of private tours, taking them to the Icelandic countryside to a see some of the many natural wonders, and also a tour of the northernmost capital in the world. And after that, both of you can enjoy the world-class Reykjavik nightlife! Space is limited, register now.

NOTE: Limit one spouse ticket per Fanfest ticket. Spouse tickets are not available individually-they must be purchased with an accompanying Fanfest ticket.

In addition to the endless supply of snacks & cola, rockin' DJs, and live entertainment throughout, there will be these scheduled events:

  • PVP Tournament. Think of a cage match for capsuleers: your name and ship on a giant screen, battering your opponent into scrap before the rabid cheers of hundreds of fans. The prize: undisputed bragging rights and interstellar fame-plus some very cool EVE Stuff™ to be decided. Think you have what it takes? Then make sure you sign up for the action! The first 24 teams have been chosen, check out the bracket listings here

  • Presentations. CCP's creative, technical, and production leads give you an up-close-and-personal view of what's being done to make EVE better now, plus a glimpse at the future of EVE.

  • Roundtables. A personal discussion between groups of players and devs covering EVE topics such as content, game design, storyline, and more. Signups will be at the venue on the day of the event.

  • Jita. Are your corpmates planning a strong showing at this year's Fanfest? Then register for your own dedicated meeting area for your corporation or alliance on the venue floor!

  • Silent Auction. It’s your chance to get some cool EVE collectable items and also be helping kids on several continents to have an easier hospital stay.

This year we're also going to provide something extraordinary: A special hands-on demo of Walking in Stations, using CCP's new Ambulation Technology. You'll be able to sit down and interact with character avatars live at FanFest. This will be the first public demonstration of EVE with Walking in Stations and we expect this experience to be a huge draw.

To complete your pilgrimage to Iceland, the EVE Store will be stocked with phat lewt, including new merchandise not yet available online. You can haz our stuff!

No matter what, you'll return with memories that will last a lifetime. Last year, we packed the hall and had to dodge questions about capacity. This year we're maximizing the space plan to let even more people in the door. Don't miss this opportunity for a truly unique experience that you'll never forget!

Stay connected. Check out our facebook page.

Please note that you have to be 18 years or older to enter the Fanfest area.

The Fanfest is held in cooperation with Icelandair, Nvidia, IBM, Nýherji, Microsoft and Commodore.
