Eve University Welcomes You!Eve University has been in existence for over three years, with the goal of serving the needs of players new to the Eve Universe. Well over 1000 toons are now enrolled making it one of the largest corps in Eve. Eve University is a rarity in Eve: A purely altruistic corporation. Everyday, faculty and older students give freely to new players their most valuable resource: their time and guidance. This has made Eve University one of the friendliest corps in the game. We are a relaxed corporation, with an open door to new players (less than 8 wks) who wish to learn. Faculty and mentoring positions are also available. Students and Faculty are welcome to stay just for a "term", or stay forever to help out future students. Here our some of the corporate activities that we run:- Group NPC Pirate hunts and Mining expeditions - PVP combat lessons (Tackling, EWAR, scanning..) - Special building subcontracts from NAGA - Guided mission and complex runs - Our library of videos and lessons to parts of the game - Learning scholarships - Access to 0.0 space expeditions and "advanced play" through our sister corporation "The Graduates" - and much more.. We have a number of scheduled instructed classes and events a week, in addition to the many unscheduled events lead by our helpful older graduate students. New Players: Come join a corporation whose sole interest is introducing you to Eve and making you a better player. Many fine careers have started with Eve University as their first corp. Read our previous recruitment thread to hear the testimonials of players from all around Eve.Experienced Players: Do you wish to give something back to the Eve community? Would like to give your game more meaning than the next ISK, or the next dead NPC rat? Become a faculty member at Eve University. You will find teaching and mentoring new players a rewarding experience, while still being able to enjoy all aspects of the game. Criteria to join Eve UniversityStudents (<8wk):The only thing we ask is that you have finished Eve's introductory tutorial and follow-on missions. Eve University Welcomes You!
Eve University has been in existence for over two years, with the goal of serving the needs of players new to the Eve Universe.
Eve University is a rarity in Eve: A purely altruistic corporation. Everyday, faculty and older students give freely to new players their most valuable resource: their time and guidance. This has made Eve University one of the friendliest corps in the game.
Eve University is a member of The Big Blue Alliance, and as such we can provide our members a chance to safely experience 0.0 space in the Geminate region. Players can also participate in anti-pirate PVP operations to help The Big Blue keep the IPS constellation secure and open for all Eve citizens.
Through the Eve University faculty, and our Big Blue Alliance brethren such as NAGA and The Big Blue peacemaker corps, you will have access to the teaching and advice of some of the most experienced industrialists, PVPers, and NPCers available in the game.
We are a relaxed corporation, with an open door policy. Players freely come and go. All aspects of Eve life can be explored as an Eve University member, and at your own pace.
Here our some of the corporate activities that run regularly: - Group NPC Pirate hunts in 0.0 space. - Group Mining expeditions in 0.0 space - PVP combat lessons (Tacking, EWAR, scanning..) - Special building subcontracts from NAGA - Group missions and complex runs. - Guide videos and lessons to parts of the game (like instajump creation and mission running). - and much more..
New Players: Come join a corporation whose sole interest is introducing you to Eve and making you a better player.
Many fine careers have started with Eve University as their first corp. Read our previous recruitment thread to hear the testimonials of players from all around Eve.
Experienced Players: Do you wish to give something back to the Eve community? Would like to give your game more meaning than the next ISK, or the next dead NPC rat? You will find teaching and mentoring new players a rewarding experience while still being able to enjoy all aspect of the game.

Great idea for a corp. Will probably lower the "play game for 3 days then leave" rate for EVE. Just hope you don't get war decced by some large PvP/pirate corp...(Heh...heh...that would be fun. Cruel, but fun. That's why i'm a pirate...heh...) |

Oh they've tried many times Zarithas, but The Big Blue and Eve Uni have some top rate anti-pirate PvPers. BTW, I love the SniggWaffe recruitment add. Your corp sounds like a fine idea for a place for new players who know they wish to be pirates. (Eve Uni is really for non-pirates, or the uncertain). |

Edited by: Romble on 10/05/2006 16:09:33 Edited by: Romble on 10/05/2006 10:52:45 As a 2 month member I can vouch for this corp and alliance and say it will provide for any type of gameplay experience you like with no strings attached. Here is my interesting testimony:
I joined and within 3 weeks there was a war declared on our alliance by a top notch mercenary group. I had never ventured to our 0.0 space and was just puddling my way through empire missions and the like. Well not having any training as of yet and being green to most everything I was a early casualty of war and lost my most expensive(battlecruiser) ship in Empire space. The corp was kind enough to cover a sizable chunk of my loss even though I had insurance without me asking or anything.
Next day they put forth all hands on deck type message for all pilots who wanted to come to our station in 0.0 and take part in military defense and operations. I had never been to 0.0 and this was all new to me. It was not safe for me to stay in empire so I went for the experience and to take part in the war. Euni provided us with basic tackling frigs and modules and I volunteered at every opportunity. When things were clear of hostiles vets in the alliance took us out ratting in 0.0 but went over all the basic strats of instas, bookmarks, tackling, proper overview setups, alligning etc etc.. All things that woud come in handy for me on my ops.
The stage was set and I got to go on an op to chase down some hostiles war targets in Empire space near our 0.0 home. Well after some cat and mouse chases by the gates we finally uncloaked a cov ops pilot of theirs. The chase was on! The adrenaline rush was insane. I hit my mwd, got into close orbit range, got the web and scrambler down and laid into the target with my gang. To my great surprise the covert pilot was the very same one who started the engagement with me a few days before and took out my BC! Oh was it sweet revenge to lay the final blow on him :)
Be a part of it, you wont look back! |

We have two kinds of players at Eve University. The first is relatively new players trying to learn more about the game, and the second is more experienced players who wish to help with the universities' mission, however they can.
If you feel you are in either group, we would welcome your application.
Also, the "Eve University" channel is available to all Eve citizens who either wish to learn something, or help out with questions in their spare time.

Been in for just over a month and it's been a great help so far. Highly recommended. Cool people, plenty of action if you want it, and just a great network setup for helping new players. I can't imagine leaving at this point. Good times! |

So helpful too. Manas gave me a colour-coded wipe clean slate with everyone's tea and coffee preferences. It even doubles as a tray - forward thinking 4tw!
But seriously, if you are looking to learn your way in Eve with a supportive corporation you could do far worse than Eve University. This is the corp that I wish were around when I started playing Eve.

I will try to pursuade my comrade to join me in enlisting for your corp, Manas. We both are, for the moment, anti-pirates (but with little experience) and ratting for the most part. He's been bugging me to join a corp, but I have been careful to join one. However, I think your corp seems to fit our play style/schedule (he's in Australia, and I am in the U.S. -- we both work normal hours on weekdays). |

Hi,
I currently have around 6.8mil sp. Im based out of Balginia, Rens and Aedtide. Im primarily an agent runner working for the brutor tribe as well as the republic fleet. My goal is to get jump clones so I can partake in PvP without risking my implants.
I feel like such a newbie and theres still a lot I need to learn, as well as things I would like to contribute such as my agent/corp standings. I do level 3 missions in empire space, and lvl 2 missions in .2 space. I can fly minmatar BS, BC, Cruisers and also have gallente skills to lvl 3 BS. My combat skills are a mixture of missiles, projectiles and drones (including heavy drones)
would I fit in well with the university, or would you suggest I find another corporation who is more focused with the corporations and agents I work for? ie. I dont want my standings with the brutors or fleet to have been a waste (if I understand how jump clones work correctly) |

Alliance members can set up Jump Clones into The Blue Pill (BWF-ZZ). This gives our more distant members a chance to participate in anti-pirate PvP events. Most of our events do start out of The Forge and Geminate regions just due to the fact that that is where our HQ and 0.0 space is. We could, for example, use an "Instructor of Minmatar Missions" if that idea fancies you. You could help lead fresh Minmatars into the mysteries of high-level mission running. Also, we don't require eternal blood-oaths from our instructors.. some just come to teach/learn for a few months then decide to move on. As for whether Eve University is right for you, it depends upon your tolerance to answering questions while you are getting your own answered :) I suggest dropping by our public "Eve University" channel, and getting to know our students and faculty. |
