The new version of the Complete Miner's Guide is finally here! The first release of many to follow over the next weeks. I respectfully ask you be patient with the updates, this project is quite literally huge, and I wish to release a quality product.

If you'd like to purchase advertising space to help me and support the guide, while also promoting your business or products, see this thread here.

The follow sections are now ready and available for download.
√ 1. INTRODUCTION
√ 2. MINING
√ 3. MANUFACTURING
√ 4. RESEARCH
x 5. INVENTION
x 6. STARBASES
x 7. OUTPOSTS[
x 8. MARKET & TRADING
x 9. EXPLORATION
x 10. RESOURCES
x 11. CREDITS

The full completion of the guide is scheduled for WHEN IT IS FINISHED(TM), but surely before Duke Nukem Forever comes out (see what I did there?). Keep visiting the thread for updated versions as sections will be progressively added over the next weeks.

Well, here it is folks!

First of all, I apologize if it seems like nothing is ready... this is a big project, and this will be a big guide. Not even half the content is released, and the guide already contains 92 pages. Considering the smaller font used in this version over the previous one (which had close to 80 pages), a lot was changed, and a lot was added. So much, that it would be too difficult to list.

I hope you will like the new design and the professional look I tried to give it! Expect the same quality content for all other sections, which I hope to have all released before the next 30 days.

Finally, I apologize for the crappy quality of the images in the guide. They look 10x better in the word document, and even after playing with Acrobat's converting options and setting everything to maximu quality, they still look like ****, considering. Anyone knows how to get a high quality PDF?

I hope you enjoy the first part

Thanks For the guide Halalda. Looks good, and love the cartoon style inserts which breaks it up nicely.

Only typos i noticed that sprang out are in Section 4 : P88, ME/PE mix up on the Cap Comp, BS, and Mods.

Woah! It looks really great, thank you!

Hey, I just found and error (guess it is a typo). On page 13 you stated that the Strip Miner I can use Mining Crystals and in fact it cannot. It didn't change with Apocrypha, did it?

pherhaps mentioning how big the bonuses of the orca are in total on a hulk (with examples like good skilled orca pilot (everything on IV and max skilled with industrial cs V and gang mindlink)
so ppl stop asking how many hulks you need to replace a hulk for orca when going for max yield not mentioning the hauling capacity of the orca

Very nice guide!

I've found one error already though. On page 13 it is stated that strip miner 1's use mining crystals. To my knowledge this is not the case.

I've also come across some spelling mistakes and an expansive/expensive error (MLU table).

One thing that needs reworking is the squadron/wing/fleet boosters section. Granted, squadron and wing boosters are only useful in small ops and still require a valid command structure, they avoid the need for a full command structure. On page 41 you almost seem to contradict yourself on this.

Keep up the good work!

The table for advanced materials from the 'babushka' site is wrong by the way, and you seem to have copied this across with the error included - the reaction for Fermionic Condensates is described as only have an output of 2 units, whereas the reaction in game provides a 200 unit output.

Theres a few typos and things, many of which have been spotted, but I'll have a quick re-read of the guide if you are interested in a bit of feedback (im only glancing through it at work at the moment)

Looks really good though.

1st - thanks for the update
2nd - looks fine both on screen and on paper (laser printer). Need to zoom 3x to catch some blockiness.
3rd - how do you manage to have time to update the guide, manage the corp/alliance affairs, RL work? Were you not in your internship? Do you run a 48-hour day?

Thanks again for uber-guide.

Hello Halada,

Have you noticed that the URL in the link shows as...

http://www.lsjv-eve.com/completemingersguide/completeminersguide_v3-0.pdf

Is this intentional...is it a guide for ugly people..?

However, you have done it again, thank you on behalf of all of Eve. Well done.

Cheers, Clint

lol @ the link!

As you might have noticed, I was a little tired and rushed the PDF for release before going to bed.

I've taken notes of all your remarks and have corrected all errors.

Thanks!

Thanks for the updated guide, Halada. I'm reading it as I post this, but I'm noticing a few errors:

# The word that means something has a high cost is spelled "expensive", not "expansive". I've spotted this at least three times in the guide so far, and I'm on page 39.

# You state that there are 18 different ores in EvE, yet you only list 16. (P4, Section 1.1, second paragraph) Where are the remaining 2?

# Strip Miner I does not use crystals, but this has been mentioned here already.

# On Page 15, you state that you need a corp standing of 6.47 or more to get a 0% tax rate in a NPC station. Are you sure of this number? I recently had to grind a character up to 0% tax refine rate and I had to get over 6.7.

# Page 30, third paragraph: It could use a rewrite, as you seem to have copied it verbatim from an older guide. As is, it states in the present tense, that the Hulk costs 500 million ISK.

Hope this helps to polish off your guide. Keep up the good work.

EDIT: Typo corrected.

After a grindind session I could get 100% with 6.47, however, the station window incorrectly reports the net yield, and this was a while ago.

I'll have to recheck.

To help you further with this, I did the grinding during Quantum Rise, around November or December.

I also remember seeing the Refining window showing me 0.0% in the "we take" column when I had 6.67, which was true as long as I was refining in small amounts. However, when I refined a evening's worth of mined ore, several hundred units of minerals were being taken as tax, which led me to conclude that the tax rate was at 0.01% or thereabouts at corp standing 6.67.
