i know you guys were really excited about my 4/14 thread but then for some reason your agents stopped posting the 4/15 to 4/19 updates - this may be because you proceeded to lose horribly but i aspire to be a helpful mitten so here they are in full~

4/15/09 UPDATE

We did pretty well last night. Two R64s went from the KenGoku side to ours; one in ZU-MS3 was destroyed and now has a KIA tower, while another in Z-UZZN has a small RZR placeholder which comes out in US time for us to replace.

We had solid battleship fleet % which was a huge plus; with this, we took down the TN25 jammer and Imperian proceeded to reinforce a bunch of **** in that station system.

Some newbie goons on the op had no idea what an R64 is: it's a 'Rarity 64' moon. Alliances fight over them because they provide between 6 and 11 billion isk per month; that money fuels our towers. This is why it is critical to keep the R64s in our hands and out of Kenny's; if they get enough, they'll be able to fund a spam-based counterattack. Take all the hostile R64 and they run out of cash and that's it.

Presently, KenZoku has 5 R64s in Period Basis, 7 R64s in Querious, 1 R64 in Delve and 1 R64 in Aridia/Sakht. Until we started ****ing up royally in Querious, they had nothing left in Querious and nothing in Delve. We're making progress in Period Basis but obviously anti-R64 work is a huge strategic priority now.

4/16/09 UPDATE

I was out of pocket for most of 4/16 because my jabber kept ****ing up. -A- called off their holiday/day of rest because we announced ops for 4/16, and we proceeded to do nothing in particular in eurotime, but as best as I can tell from the pos app they didn't accomplish anything either. Nothing of ours is in RF mode. That itself is good; -A- didn't do anything and didn't get their much-desired break.

In US time we reinforced some **** in 49-. I know a lot of you are sick of reinforcing **** in 49- and would rather be reinforcing hostile R64s in Querious; you're right, and will see more of that in the near future.

After late US tz, we stopped doing stuff. Some of you are under the impression that stratcomm 'missed' the Q2- tower which came out at 7:00ish because no op was posted. We had intel that -A- had called a 6:30 CTA. They put 150 people into the system and we didn't bother forming up because it'd be a blueball. You can disagree with the decision to punt, but a decision was made - it wasn't a 'oh whoops we forgot dat tower lawl'.

Meanwhile, ZAF/KIA/RAWR have substantially moved the Period Basis front forward, reinforcing 10+ hostile towers in TN25 (Frontal Impact station 2 jumps from C3N in Delve). One of the 5 remaining RKZ R64s in PB comes out of rf today at 21:13. There's some question yet as to the balance of forces in Period Basis, and we're being deliberately hazy about what's taking place there until things are more clear.

Since I couldn't log onto jabber or do anything useful, I made a handy spreadsheet showing every R64 in Delve, Querious, Period Basis, Aridia and Khanid and who owns what.

i am a helpful mitten more to come~

4/17/09 UPDATE

We had a damn good night, starting at 21:13 when we overpowered the RKZ forces in I6M and killed a R64, replacing it with a ZAF tower. We then proceeded to go down the R64 spreadsheet and reinforced just about every R64 they have. The A-E R64 was mistimed by LadyScarlet herself, so it'll come out at 3:11 tonight. Depending on the balance of forces, we should be able take it out.

Later US TZ did some more reinforcing work in TN25, which is as we speak falling - it seems that Frontal Impact can't withstand this sort of sustained pressure. Finally, we went to Q2 and nuked the guns off the R64 towers which were already in reinforced, just to ensure a kill.

Downtime op: We blobbed up under a jammer in Q2 with 6 titans, killed the two RKZ R64s, replaced them with small GS towers which we then reinforced ourselves to ensure a good US time for replacement. This also saves the Sov3 in Q2- which Davey was sperging about so hard. Total R64 swing thus far: +3 into the column of the good guys.

As you can see, we've shifted our focus to drill down on RKZ's R64 income. The spreadsheet has been updated; when a R64 is in reinforced, it makes no moon gold. Expect to keep them in perma-reinforced until they're all gone and replaced.

4/18/09 UPDATE

Yesterday was good fun. As mentioned at the tail end of the last update, at downtime we had a big win; later in US time we succeeded in replacing our Q2 placeholders with real towers.

We punted on the Sakht dyspo because -A- and RKZ called a massive CTA, though in hindsight we probably could have made a fight out of it, given our numbers at the time - however, the bulk of our forces were in TN25, and they had been busy all day 0wning that system.

We picked up a R64 in A-E, which came out at 3:00 evetime; I was in fleet for this and it was a weird experience. When we first showed up in system RKZ warped a mostly-Barbie gang of frigates, interceptors and assault frigates onto our capitals, which we'd cyno'd at the planet due to a lack of staging tower. Our battleship blob gunned them down. Then we went to this tower and blew it up, bubbled the defenders inside the tower and pretty much killed them all once the tower popped. Again, mostly smaller ships on the hostile side. In an NPC-sov station system.

It felt like we were invading Syndicate and that these insolent Molle-followers had mocked one of our sacred dead.

Anyway, we proceeded to RF more R64s as the night went on, hitting C-7 and 5V-. There's more work to be done here.

TN25 seems to be collapsing for FI. We killed a bunch (3-5? more?) towers here as FI's ability to maintain towers seems to have collapsed; they're not repping or seeming to do much. Maybe it was just one night's lapse; regardless, RKZ blobbed Tn25 briefly, shot 5 RAWR towers in a very slow and inefficient way (dread fleet in a tower doing nothing for 1 hour + at the start) and then left. Imperian dropped 5 more towers for RAWR at downtime so the count is now 17 F to 18 H and changing rapidly.

Oh, also, PL lost a titan who ****ed up a logoff and didn't realize it until he returned to his computer an hour later. Welp!

4/19/09 UPDATE

The main event on 4/18 was in Tenerifis, where XIX and -A-/Atlas had a huge slugfest battle resulting in a ****load of capital and support kills on each side. XIX came out on top with an Atlas Nyx kill despite being heavily outnumbered and even had one of his (triple-boxing, heh) titans put into structure. Apparerently there's a big slapfight on ru-caod about who 'won' the fight, but the upshot is that our enemies have failed in their 'big push' to remove Death.

On our side of the war, without -A-, we might as well not have enemies. We ran around pretty much unopposed yesterday after an early-euro total and absolute **** of the Kenny/Barbie fleet in TN25. After RKZ losing horribly, we proceeded to blow up several (I don't have the exact count, check the kb) FI towers. RZR ran around in Querious and blew up an EXE cynogen pos which had no stront in it; FI had some towers abruptly run out of fuel which we destroyed before they could be onlined again.

With the exception of the 49- and Sakht R64s, we have most of the hostile R64s in RF.

This morning in 4/19, we had a downtime op which has already resulted in a ****load of TN25 tower kills; TN25 will be RAWR sov tomorrow. This has been something like five **** days in a row, not gonna complain~

Originally by: 420 420 420 420

I think the fall of TN25 on 4/20 merits an entirely new thread.

Theatre Updates:

CAPITAL AND SUPPORT PILOT SHOUT-OUT:

Due to the surge in participation in the last week, we have shifted to Pos.jpg situation remniscent of the Delve Purge, where there are 30+ hostile towers in reinforced on any given day compared to 0 or 1 allied towers. You guys have been awesome about turnout and should congratulate yourselves on the abrupt change of direction in the war. We went from slowly losing to affirmatively winning inside of five days, and that's because you x'd up and pew pew'd, or pres butaned, or whatever.

DELVE FRONT:

With the exception of RKZ having towers in 1-SMEB and EXE towers in M0O, there isn't a Delve front. We took back the A-E R64 last week (see prior thread). Those two systems are being used as cyno/staging points by our enemies, but have no R64s or stations or bridges, so at this juncture they're not relevant.

PERIOD BASIS FRONT:

Apparently SirMolle told everyone on his side that the war was going to be won or lost in Querious. Trolling removed. If you are going to copy and paste from another forum, please ensure that the content would pass the forum rules found at http://wiki.eveonline.com/w/index.php?title=Forum_Rules - Mitnal In point of fact, the war is being won here, in Period Basis.

As most of you know, the bulk of the forces arrayed against us could be divided in three; KenZoku, -A-/ROL/etc, and ****ty pets. Most of the ****ty pets live in Period Basis and despite the fact that they are key to KenZoku's plans, RKZ remains to pretentious to show up and defend their vassals unless a RKZ R64 is at stake. We have concentrated our efforts on this front in the past week.

RKZ has gone from owning 6+ of the R64s in Period Basis to owning 3. This morning after downtime we captured the second 0OTX R64 for KIA. Frontal Impact failed under the sustained pressure in TN25 and that station has been captured by Morsus Mihi today; much fo the past two days have been spent blowing up FI towers there. Many reports have come in of FI being in total cascade, suiciding, insurance-frauding and self-destructing ships, most notably an Orca yesterday. Yesterday KIA began dropping towers in E2 and GR-, the other stations in the TN25 constellation. All 8 of the FI towers in GR- have been reinforced; half of them will come out in US prime due to a failure to time stront. GR- is lost. E2, held by Beach Boys, only had 6 towers; it will likely fall on the same day as GR-.

man this 4k character limit is a pain when it's time for serious propaganda ugh TO BE CONTINUED~

QUERIOUS FRONT:

Progress is also being made here, though it is not the focus of our efforts. In the past week we have consistently kept in reinforced the RKZ R64s, with the exception of the pair in 49. We have retaken several of our lost Querious R64s, including ZAU and Q2- earlier this week. This morning at downtime we ninja-sieged the P4 prom moon and destroyed it while hilariously outnumbered, though we got chased off before we could tower it ourselves. By all rights we shouldn't have been chased off; our 12 dreads were suicide fit and -A- dropped 60 people on top of our 30 support. -A- proceeded to fail to tackle a single capital, which simply, uh, warped out.

Probably the biggest impact of our actions in Querious recently will be felt in Period Basis:

First, the FI cynogen in IGE. This was a critical tower, part of thier capital route to empire. Sov3 system, unjammed due to its beacon; RZR ninja-sieged it two days ago and it had no strontium. Whoops. Likewise the EXE cynobeacon tower in G-3BOG, which was destroyed after downtime yesterday by RZR. That system is neutral today. This snips EXE's capital escape route to empire, which has raised a hue and cry - they can get carriers in and out, but not jump freighters. This will render the Period Basis front much more grim for the pets, as fuel importation will be a nightmare, and evacuating assets will be nearly impossible without significant aid from RKZ. And we know how good Molle is about titan-bridging his allies around.

THE FORCES AGAINST US:

KenZoku is back on the downward spiral of membership loss due to your efforts. Let's keep that up; you can watch this yourself on the link at the top of the thread.

-A- keeps getting pingponged between Eastern Tenerifis and Querious due to XIX. In general, their interest level in repeatedly saving RKZ's incompetent **** has been dropping, since RKZ appears unable to accomplish anything on their own initiative.

One of the reasons why they have been so markedly ineffective on the Period Basis front is that -A- capitals are staged in LGK, five midpoint jumps from Period Bais. We can clean up that region without virtually any concern for non-RKZ hostile capitals.

In 'other side of the galaxy' news, IRC/ED are being invaded by Majesta Empire/The Initative, some of the suballiances in the NC. I'm not really keeping track of this because XIX seems to be doing just fine in Tenerifis.

TCF is returning very soon. This merits a ~heh~.

NEAR-TERM STRATEGIC GOALS:

*Take every R64 from our enemies.
*Keep every uncaptured hostile R64 in reinforced so it cannot mine.
*Complete the conquest of the TN25/GR-/E2 stations in Period Basis
*Keep Delve secure while Sov4 happens.
*Retake 3BK/49- after the PB stuff is sorted.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

1. Show up on ops.
2. Train for strategic ships: Dreads, Carriers, Fleet BS, Dictors
3. Join the GIA
4. Push Butan for GSOL
5. Stay on Jabber for impromptu op announcements

Amusing side-note. When last week's war update was posted on 4/14, when I said we were in trouble unless we got our crap together, RKZ and EXE immediately crossposted it for morale. For some reason they failed to crosspost all the other updates, wherein we welcome them to the ~0wn zone~ so I have helpfully begun to post them on CAOD.

~the thread which started it all~

Originally by: fuzzy on 4/14

Low-intensity strategic warfare is a *****. The objectives tend to focus on assets which are critical yet incomprehensible to the average goon.

What do moons outside of stations have to do with the alliance? What does 'r64' even mean? Can I shoot dysprosium? Do we care about Querious? What about Period Basis? What's going on? Ooh, a wormhole!

This confusion is mostly the fault of the senior leadership. Darius, myself, Karttoon et al have been swamped with various real life issues - this is not an excuse, but an explanation. In the past week, Dabigredboat, Jaroslav, Brennah and many others have picked up the slack while your fearless leaders have been picking their noses. So, belatedly, here is an update to let you know precisely what the **** is going on.

tl;dr: The war in Querious is a slow quagmire which we are presently losing, though every day of delay in Querious brings us closer to Sov4 in Delve. However, unless we turn our **** around in a serious way, all of our efforts will be for naught.

QUERIOUS FRONT:

Two weeks ago we had a pair of serious welps. After our stronting ****up decisively lost us 49-, we suffered another station-level welp in 3BK where offline RKZ towers had been left undestroyed. They were fueled, turned on, and an additional pile of Red.Overlord, -A- and other ****ty pet towers blocked out the rest of the moons in that system.

Both of these losses can be blamed on organizational-level burnout, as they took place at a time where virtually every system and station in Delve and all of our R64s swapped to Sov3 at once, which meant that a host of jammer towers and an entire bridge network was being thrown up in a herculean, sleepless effort by our logistics team. **** got missed.

Since that time, we've managed to mostly secure our R64s. R64s provide our alliance-level income. The first step when attacking an alliance (unless you have total military superiority) is to cut their R64s off. Initially we lost four of them before they swapped to Sov3, largely due to stront timing issues - we had a stupid setting for default stront, and most of our R64s had been thrown up in a rush, as we took 25+ R64s over the space of 4 days. After yet another massive push, GSOL put jammers and bridges at all of our R64s, significantly impacting RKZ's ability to attack them.

Then we killed Kenny's capital fleet.

Without their capital fleet, RKZ's allies have been reluctant to do serious siegework on RKZ's behalf; the conflict has shifted from a station contest in 49- to tussles over R64s, most recently in Q2-. Unfortunately for us, many goons do not understand the significance of R64s or why they should care about something that isn't a station, so our participation has been crap. That, or it's the fact that no one has been providing a high-level overview of the war, so there's a feeling of confusion and a lack of clarity; take your pick. Or blame taxes.

The big problem is that, while the pace of our losses has slowed dramatically since killing the RKZ capital fleet, we're still losing; We lost our R64s in Q2- even though that system was jammed. While we initially lost 49- due to a stronting ****up (ie, our timer got whacked), we proceeded to lose an additional ~10 towers in timezones where usually we don't worry about tower losses. Because goons are not showing up, we're taking hits where we normally would have uncontested system control; our counterattacks are faltering because we can't summon massive goon turnout in our primetime to do a hellpurge.

PERIOD BASIS FRONT:

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Period_Basis

Slow progress here. KIA, ZAF and Morsus Mihi have been chewing on EXE and RKZ soverignty. RKZ has a number of R64s in this region, almost all of them owned by DICE, which is presently the most functional corp in RKZ - as they have cash. All of them had been guarded by Sov3 and jammers, but as the map demonstrates, KIA/ZAF have spammed those systems and snapped the Sov3s on a number of them.

EXE at one point had a substantial bridge network in Period Basis that led to Delve but that has recently snapped with the loss of HIX4 (and, earlier, 1-2JP4 and 0-NTIS). That bridge (from the EXE stations) took them to the doorstep of TN25, a Frontal Impact station 1 jump from HIX4 where Morsus Mihi has been engaged in a spam war with FI.

In sum, while Period Basis is a vastly lower priority than R64s in Delve and stations in Querious, it's moving in a positive direction.

DELVE FRONT:

On 4/21, we get Sov4 in the W-4 constellation, where the bulk of our stations are. Over the next few weeks, the rest of Delve flips to Sov4, including the NOL constellation where we built two new outposts. Essentially all of Delve is Sov3, jammed, and connected by jump bridges. We have a working empire bridge network from NOL -> A2-V27 -> Empire.

This is paradise. However, it's going to be on fire if we don't turn things around in Querious.

Already we have lost an R64 in Delve itself, in A-E which is NPC sov and unjammable. RKZ has spammed 1-SMEB and EXE has spammed M0O as possible bridge/cynobeacon routes.

THE FORCES AGAINST US:

Our primary enemy in this fight is not RKZ, which has begun to have serious systemic issues, but -A-, ROL, and their associated pets. Their numbers and timezone coverage have allowed RKZ to stumble forward, zombielike, and staunch their losses:

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/KenZoku

As you can see, RKZ has stabilized at around 2660 members, where before they had been steadily losing. This is a natural consequence of them having retaken 2 stations from us.

-A- has been pingponged somewhat between the 49- front and 9-98, 46DP, and eastern Tenerifis where XIX has been making inroads. That front is being distracted by ED/IRC's invasion of RA, who had been helping XIX vs -A-. In general, however, -A- turnout has decreased markedly over the past few weeks. If we can get goon participation back to normal levels, we should be able to overpower them. However, until -A- is pried away from supporting RKZ, we're not going to see a RKZ failure cascade, which is our end goal.

OUR STRATEGIC GOALS:

* RETAKE OUR LOST R64S: A-E, Q2-, ZAU, 5V-, 49-, C-7
* RETAKE 49- AND 3BK STATIONS
* DEFEND DELVE UNTIL IT HITS SOV4 (4/21 ONWARDS)
* BREAK RKZ FOREVER AND HARVEST THEIR TEARS

WHAT YOU CAN DO
1. Show up on ops.
2. Show up on ops.
3. Show up on ops.
4. Show up on ops.
5. Show up on ops.
6. Join the GIA.
7. Why the **** are you still in NPC Delve? No one should be in 319. 0-H is for formups.
8. Help GSOL with push butan duty.

Thanks Mittani. I'll take this kind of reading any day, it's what I think of as quality material. Tbh, I'd like seeing more of this type of thing on Eve-O from many groups. Honest appraisal (while still taking the troops morale into account) and giving a true view of the inside is far more effective than any threadnought or half-baked propaganda.

Ofc, I don't expect it to happen from any group either. Giving out the bad news to the public as well as the good doesn't happen often, especially at the time of occurance. I felt I was likely to have my request conceded too because of this previous weeks reversal.

Anyway, thanks, good read... consider doing more along this line... but include the bad with the good. Contrary to popular opinion, the vast majority of Eve never gets to read what is on your forums, just like with any other alliance.

Well, what are they going to say exactly? Erm, it appears our reputation far outstrips our ability so let's all hope the Tinker Fairy comes and bails us out again, iunno.

Running the war room out of CAOD is very beneficial for the rank and file Kenny members who are currently experiencing the mushroom treatment.
It is also becoming somewhat of a tradition :)

Believe it or not a good portion of your adversaries read the assorted killboards and watch sovereignty updates. Better to get your information from quasi-accurate information, instead of the assorted information spewing from intel channels. :) I will be the first to admit that I do love reading the assorted "intel updates provided as fact" when I drink my coffee in the morning. A cup of coffee, forum drivel and the storm of goon posts thanking Mittens for providing useful information that they could have read on their own forums is entertaining to say the least. :)
