The other day I was out in my motorcar enjoying the sun in my face and the wind in my hair. As I was driving through a quaint little village I noticed a dog on the street chasing his own tail. I pondered this C&P. I pondered this a lot.
Piracy is not the most glamourous of professions, nor is it the most profitable. We destroy rather than create. We plunder instead of nurture. We lose internet spaceships while others build.
Are we like the dog in the street?
Forever chasing our tails in a loop of destruction? Too narrow minded, blinkered and stupid to see other alternatives?

Shooting sh*t is fun. I dunno why you're comparing dogs chasing tails to ppl sitting at a computer blowing stuff up. I fail to see a resemblance.
It's like a kid building a sandcastle. He slaves on a beach, or in a sandbox making piles of dirt resemble a castle from the middle ages, only to throw rocks at it pretending they're cannonballs, or catapult projectiles. The castle is punched and kciked by imaginary monsters or giants.
Take Jenga, the reason jenga is fun is because it requires the tower to fall at the end of the game. Jenga would be really quite crappy if the goal of the game was just to pile the blocks up in an organized tower and sit quietly looking at it.
Eve is similar. You get ships and crash them into eachother. A bit more complex than jenga or sandcastles, but still essentially the same.
And one last note: I'm glad to see Eve is so much on your mind that, when you see a dog chasing it's tail in the middle of the street you think of EVE.

Yes. I pictured a slightly portly and balding gentleman with bad teeth cruising along in a Citroen with the windows down.. Comb-over flapping in the wind. Contemplating his life as the crushing weight of new responsibility in a game of internet spaceships finally washes over him. Becoming contemplative and philosophic as a defense against the fear that he might fail his loyal disciples. Some of whom have actually come to worship him and hang on every word. Noticing the dog and thinking 'This..is what I do with my time when I play internet spaceships?' Then posting in C&P...asking the obvious question..is this all we are?
