Hello everyone

Back in 2007 I opened the EVE cemetery which flourished until September 2008 when the JihadSwarm swept through Molea and destroyed the cemetery. My planetside duties at the time prevented me from rebuilding. Those duties have now been completed and I have been able to return to space. I reopened the cemetery in a public ceremony at 1900 GMT by anchoring 10 graves there.

The cemetery is located at Molea 2, moon 1. Each corpse gets respectfully placed in a secure can, if I receive multiple corpses of the same pilot I upgrade their grave to a mausoleum. Epitaphs can be arranged from the pilot themselves by contacting me ingame.

To enable the cemetery to grow I require you, the lovely citizens of Eve, to donate as many corpses as you can recover. Please contract them to Azia Burgi from any NPC station and I will collect them as soon as possible.

Thanks for your time. I hope you will visit the cemetery and are able to reflect peacefully on the traumatic deaths of your fellow pod pilots. As always I welcome your comments, criticisms and suggestions.

I was overcome by grief at the sight of all those graves. Wink

Azia Burgi has done a fine thing this day. I attended the ceremony today and was moved by the obvious dedication to this task. I was very pleased to see that this station is not defenseless, and should remain secure as a monument to the trauma that we pilots go through - life after life. I have heard many ask, "Why?". I think the answer to that question is different for each of us. For me, I can say that this cemetery reminds me to be humble. It reminds me that if a clone vat ever malfunctioned I would be brother to the dreary contents of these grave containers. Moreover, this place provides a physical location for meditations designed to relieve the psychological impressions and blank spaces that haunt my mind after I take a clone bath. This is really a holy place. I have no doubt that God is looking through the great gate today and smiling on this place.

Sincerely,

Kenny Ray

I am constantly amazed at the fascinating things that Eve Online players can accomplish in this game.
Veteran player Azia Burgi's vision of an Eve Cemetary which celebrates the memory of fallen capsuleers, is realized once again today as she brings the new Eve Cemetary online. Congratulations for overcoming an earlier setback by the ever-present griefers which seem to frequent all game servers.

The grand re-opening was a nice event and I saw notables such as one of the EveDevs, Chribba and others in attendance. Azia's poignant opening speech was brief but sincere. Today, space is just a little less cold and a little more civilized than it was before, since there is now a chance to begin ones' last journey to the Final frontier with the respect that is your due.

Well Done Azia !

(I thought the POS fireworks for the event was a nice touch too)

Sadly I missed the opening ceremony (particularly after the grinding for Khanid standings).

However, I'm hoping, and strongly believe, that Azia will do a great job in making the cemetery a true success once again.

Cool

I visited the cemetery once, and I was quite impressed with it. Do you have any plans for a systematic layout at the POS this time round, or more secure passwords?

Also, please give me shout if you decide to run another pub quiz.

Ohh please don't give them to her, send them to me so I can add to my ever growing collection of corpses. I am at close to 1000 corpses help me get to 2000 as soon as possible. Flooting in space where some greefiers can get to them I think NOT. store them safe with my in their own station bay where they are kept cold and fresh.

I plan to go with the sphere option as a layout. it lets me pack in as many graves as possible. The passwords have been upgraded, i can't go into details on that for obvious reasons. Smile

I have roughly 7800 corpses in the back log, maybe we could come to some sort of arrangement for me to acquire your collection? convo me ingame.

Thanks for everyone's continued support!

Ah come on, this is a cool idea, best to leave it alone, or just ask for a 'goon kills' section to toss bounty in.

I find this confusing. Since when did Islam make it through the eve gate?

It is just something they do to provoke a reaction. Best just to ignore them and get on with it.
