[Edit: updated dates, fixed errors.. check back soon for more updates on testing schedule] Dominion is just around the corner and it brings more improvements and enhancements with it. We think you'll be happy with the changes we've made; of course now we need to put it to the test in a "live-like" situation! To that end we will be running a series of fleet fights and other mass-tests on our main test server, Singularity. These tests will begin Thursday, October 15. We need at least 100 pilots, preferably 400+… the more people who show up, the better. _________________________________ Test schedule: Thursday [October 15] @ 17:00 GMT -- Finished Thursday [October 29] @ 17:00 GMT -- Finished Friday [October 30] @ 17:00 GMT -- Finished Thursday [November 12] @ 17:00 GMT -- Finished Thursday [November 19] @ 17:00 GMT -- Fleet Finder testThursday [November 27] @ 17:00 GMT -- Final Mass-test before Dominion release! Note: This test was postponed one day and will take place on November 27 instead of November 26. _________________________________ How to connect to Singularity for this test:
- Make a copy of the current Tranquility (TQ) client
- Visit the Sisi patch page.
- Patch the copied client to the Singularity build
- Login to the singularity test server
- Join the in-game channel "FleetTesting"
- Disable brackets | Read here if you're not sure how
- Listen for instructions and ask questions in-channel
What exactly is being tested? Standard Mass-Test:
- First part of the test will focus on Fleet vs. Fleet open combat
- Second we will move the engagement to a Starbase-siege (POS)
- You should pay attention to your FPS (use ctrl+f to view in-game)
- Anyone able to use multiple accounts is strongly encouraged to bring your alts!
- CCP staff and ISD will be on hand prior to the test to help move players to the starting location
- Don't forget to fill out the feedback thread after the test:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1197490
Fleet Finder test:
- We will create many different fleets
- We will then create a series of fleet 'ads' (i.e. use Fleet Finder)
- We will then test looting and salvaging NPCs and recording of loot in fleets
- You should pay attention to your FPS (use ctrl+f to view in-game)
- Anyone able to use multiple accounts is strongly encouraged to bring your alts!
- CCP staff and ISD will be on hand prior to the test to help move players to the starting location
- Don't forget to fill out the feedback thread after the test:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1197490
What should I bring?
- For the fleet portions of testing, bring a fleet-setup BS or smaller.
- For the POS siege, bring a dread or anti-POS fit ship.
- Use drones!
- Give weapon linking a try
- Spider tanks 4tw

An issue has been found on the test server which may force us to postpone the mass-testing. We are hoping to have things sorted out in time, but we may need to re-schedule the tests for next week or later.
I will update this thread with more information as soon as I have it. |

Edited by: Fournone on 12/10/2009 22:07:48 i guess the answer to tiskar's question will answer this to. Since im fairly new to EVE and still working on my cruisers, i was wondering about smaller ships becuase you said to bring BS and cap ships. Also, will we be provided with ships if we don't have the skills for larger vessels? (btw i've never been on the test server but i've seen vids on youtube on how to get on it) |

No. Hell no. Never again. It was a complete mess and too many kids interpreted it as a "Free for all fun day do what you want the rules don't apply". |

A POS bash? No new Sov system testing? *Sniff* Also to the person asking about ship replacement...this is on the test server, new ships cost 100isk only at seeded stations (plus mods) Buy and fit a few if you want to keep coming back |

Wait, you're actually having a full round of testing, more than a month in advance of the announced release date? Someone pinch me, this must be a dream. Good job, CCP. Originally by: CCP Tanis An issue has been found on the test server which may force us to postpone the mass-testing. One complaint I keep hearing about SiSi is that it's using...how to put it...sub-par hardware to keep it up and running. Conspiracy theorists claim that a trio of a ZX Spectrum, an Atari 2600 and a wooden abacus are keeping the server going. Are there plans to either upgrade or temporarily reinforce the test server during this round of testing? |

Any chance that logging in might take minutes rather than hours? I waited like 2 hours to test the cap ship thing. Course it was worth it, but it might help numbers if logging in wasnt a pain.
Also, (off topic) why do cap ships warp sideways? |

For luls. Also due to programming restrictions and the way Aligning is done. |

I love the test but this time It was FAIL, first can’t connect in like 18h on the 9th then redeem cap in FD to found out once in game that is closed down. Try to organize thinks better CCP that one was not so good. Cheers to the ppl that actually could participate… but some time I wonder if is good to give moms to ppl that doing know what the mom is… hitting DD just is not what mom is made for |

Respecfully request you man the MOVEME channel 23/7 during these tests.
Hours of wasted time spent logging in plus another 45 mins autopiloting a shuttle to FD- doesn't make fio a happy tester
Should be a CSM requirement to man the moveme channel for an hour a day :)

you could set a clone to one of your academy clone spots and then it wont be 45 mins ap trip :) but its still a valid point you make here. |

We've sorted the issues with Singularity and are now back on schedule!
Rest assured folks; Singularity will be available and open in time for the test.
Don't forget to grab a copy of the SiSi client at least half an hour ahead of time to ensure you can be ready on time and don't miss any of the fun :) |

I can't fly anything bigger than a Cruiser (and I can only fly a Frigate well), but I'd really like to join in with the testing... |
