Today we mark a unique milestone. We look back upon so much that now lies behind us, for surely today is a day for remembering.

Let us share this moment to look back upon all we have done and contemplate so much history in its entirety. On this day we of the Ushra'Khan mark the fifth anniversary since our founding. And
there is so much for us to remember. The places we have been, the people we have known, the battles we have fought and the friends who have fallen along the way.

As I look back I see so much to remember. So much has changed since our work began and yet, so little. We have changed, and yet we remain the same. Names and faces change, but we persist.

We are the Ushra'Khan, we come for our people.

For five years now that has been the cornerstone for all that our movement has done. It is is our purpose, our motivation. It is our compulsion, our definition. Despite all that has transpired in this half-decade of strife, we remain the Ushra'Khan. And all that we have done, we have done for them.

We are a movement founded with one goal; to break the chains of slavery that bind our kin. No matter the world of your birth, it is your right to live free. No matter the passage of time nor the light years that divide us, we shall see you freed. That was our promise then, and it remains our promise even today. You shall be free.

When the first of us took up the cause and raised their fists high in defiance, the world was a different place. The Republic did not look beyond its own borders, so many of our Matari kin languished forgotten under Amarrian rule. So few thought of them, fewer still were prepared to fight for them. But those few who were, chose to stand. They came together and stood tall, together. And so the first steps were taken.

It began with the 'uniting of the tribes', when the disparate freedom fighting groups amongst the Minmatar Capsuleers came together under one banner, in name as well as deed. They became the third Capsuleer Alliance ever to be granted formal recognition by CONCORD. These were still very much the early days of the Capsuleer age. We were fewer then, a rarer breed.

In those days Molden Heath was our home, a wild back yard of the Republic. From there we did our part in bringing order and a measure of safety to the space lanes. And from there we would strike at Amarr through Yulai, at the heart of Slavery through the seat of a law that even now permits its abuses.

It was in this time that we came into possession of the prototype Insorum, the Vitoc cure. We called upon Midular's Republic to help us realise the greatest hope of our time, but the politicians paid us no heed. They would not act. And so in time we continued on from there into Providence, where began our greatest undertaking.

In Providence we saw the expansionist dreams of the Slaver taking root, the CVA's “Operation Deliverance” had begun. We saw the threat, even then when Providence possessed not a single station in the entire region. And there, in the south, the Slaver began to lay the foundations for a new empire. We crossed the border and, through the Mandate, we arrived in the desolate northern arm. From then the battle lines began to take form. And it was there we once hoped to finish the work a Caldari scientist began. Out there, far beyond the Republic.

In Providence we drew the line and made our stand. Unity Station was raised as we called out for change in our homelands. We stood against the expanding empire. We watched as a hero of the Republic died at the hands of his own, and we roared for justice. "One ISK for Midular!"; her sum worth to her betrayed people. Never had we felt further from our own as we did then. Out there, so far from home, we fought while the Republic stood mute. In time, we fell and were driven back to the Mandate.

Those were the darkest hours. Midular's Republic would not act. Providence was over run. We had been betrayed and the task had never seemed more formidable. That was the test of us. These are the times when an Alliance will shatter, leaving only a memory and a footnote in a history to mark their passing.

But we held. We survived. Today we stand before you, the oldest surviving Alliance in all New Eden.

Years later, and our numbers grow. In our new home of Freedom's Forge we reach new heights. Look to the Republic now and see how far we have have come as a people. The vanguard of the movement we have been for so long, but the movement entire we are not. Brothers, we begin to rise at last.

The Elders came. Midular's corrupt government fell. War came to the Republic and its people have begun to stand together. The movement has grown, expanded. We, the children of Matar are returning to our roots, the seven Tribes re-uniting after so long apart. And as I look to the ranks of the Ushra'Khan I see so many faces old and new, I see all Tribes and all races answer the call of Freedom.

The work ahead of us remains vast, it is the undertaking of a lifetime, not mere years, but together we move forward. Today we remember where we have come from, where we have been. And as the sun rises tomorrow we look forward to where we shall go, together in unity.

With our fists raised high in salute to the rising sun and in defiance to the darkness we march to battle. This war has waged five years now for us, it has not stopped for a single day.

We are the Ushra'Khan, we come for our people.

We go on.

For the years behind us, the years to come, the highs, the lows. For those we have saved, those that we have lost. For all those that we call friends, to those that we fight.

We are the Ushra'Khan. We come for our people.

Though I disagree with the actions and goals of Ushra'Khan, it is my understanding that you have been reasonably honourable opponents considering the circumstances. It may sound strange but I do wish that you will live to see a full decade of activity.

Freedom Fighters will exist so long as there are slaves, and Ushra'Khan fills the void with more grace than your successors would.

Oh, and death to the heretic, for King and Country, Amarr Victor, etc. etc. etc.

Jakiin rotates his hand lazily at each phrase, which he utters in the bored voice of someone getting something out of the way.

It has been only months since my liberation from the amarrian chain-gangs, but since then the Beh'Hude of the Ushra'Khan have taken me in and raised me up as their own. Trained, put in command of a ship and set out to return threefold to the residents of Amarr and Providence that which they have bestowed upon me and my people.

I swear this vow here, as I did then. The slaver Providence holders will ever fear us as our kin fear the whip and jackboot, striking where least expected. Always watching, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. We will be there and you will know it. And as you sit in your stations, quivering with fear of our impending onslaught, realize this...

This, is what you inflict upon people of the same flesh, the same blood. We are all human, though it be of different descent or creed. It is up to you, to walk away from the oppression, the hurt and the depravity of power over another person. Realise that and walk away, or better yet, do upon others as you wish they would do upon you and free yourself of our wrath.

Until then, glory and wisdom to the Ushra'Khan. May your courage be tempered like folded steel and your determination as solid as a set of 1600 rolled tungsten's.

It is an honour to fly with the Ushra'Khan once again, after I had to hide underground due to the loss of Unity and the safety it gave to the people, who were willing to fight slavery and got looked down upon from the Republic.
And it is even more exhilarating, that our all natural home - the Minmatar Republic - now has taken up the just fight with us!

War to slavery and all power to the people! For the Ushra'Khan! For Freedom!

I take great pleasure in warmly congratulating our friends and allies in the Ushra'Khan on reaching this momentous milestone in their history. I feel sure they will reach the decade mark having achieved even more than they have already achieved in their storied and illustrious past.

To the freedom of all.

We are your worst nightmare
We have conquered fear
We have come to terms with terror
And pain is our best friend
We are Ushra'Khan
We will come from the darkness
We will disappear without trace
Our Brothers will lay down their lives for us
As we will for them

We come for our people.

Say this at our pyre:
We died as Matari warriors,
With our faces to the fire.
