WTF? This wasnt mentioned in the patch notes and now ive got all my Gallente Navy tags stuck at my corp hq deep inside Gallente space.

Im also gonna be stuck waiting months for smuggling to come into the game. In the mean while if someone had gone funky and put it in the patch notes i could have shipped em out to the border... Evil or Very Mad

Can we pretty please disable this nice little "feature" untill next patch and actually announce it this time? Crying or Very sad

Im sure other people got a good pile of tags stuck in empire space as well now...

*snip* - Sherkaner

Navy dog tags are contraband in the respective empire -- Amarr navy tags in Amarr space, Gallente navy tags in Gallente space and so on. Also, Minmatar don't like to see you've been shooting their Gallente friends, and vice-versa, and Amarr have similar connection with Caldari. And carrying CONCORD tags will get you shot in all empires.

Makes certain sense rp-wise, i guess...

How do you RP un announced changes?

I think most can agree with you on the fact that it indeed does make sense.

but no warning the current system is going to completely change?

If this only affects navy tags then I suppose it makes *some* sense, as long as pirate tags are left alone (I can't see anything about contraband on them).

I still don't understand how customs can scan for itty bitty dog tags, that's my main issue with this one... that's a bit like "We've scanned a lighter and a pack of cigarettes in your pocket. Prepare to be destroyed!". Then again, I guess them scanning a couple Blue Pills in your cargo doesn't make much sense either, those customs b4st4rds must have some scanning skills not yet availible on the market yet...

Making *more* stuff contraband when the smuggling system hasn't even been implemented makes NO FREAKING SENSE!

Whatever CCP was smoking when they came up with this patch, I want some.

PS: It also makes no sense that Customs scanners would be able to whack you for carrying AMARR tags, but let you cruise on by with MINMATAR tags. DO they read the inscription on the tag through your ship's hull????

******ed pointless changes seem to be the theme of this patch.

Has anyone noticed the amount of agent offers you get for contraband?

Stuff like drugs isn't so bad as you can collect those at the agent home base from mission drops (in the same system) but some of them are getting silly...

Requests for viral agent, and the one i'm currently losing out on, small arms (1760 units and the agent will give me 9millShocked), available on the market a few jumps away, you go to buy them and can't, and even if you could then how do you get them back to your agent?

Seems like CCP had a good idea for a smuggling option, but implemented the countermeasures and the offers WAY too early...

CCP the so call "limitation" of the faction tags is quite unacepteable.. it's bad enough that we have so far no clear way to get stuff in or out of empirespace. Just how do you think we are suposed to get the offer needed stuff into the required locations that exist in empirespace without being cuted into shreads by the custom ships?Confused

Has anyone had their tags confiscated? They are configured to be contraband yet they won't be confiscated or players fined for carrying them. The only thing this prevents is players selling them on the market in the regions where they are contraband. If you get fined or attacked or the tags confiscated from your cargo hold, let me know and I'll take a look at it.

Not to sound like a pain in the ****, but(Very Happy) isn't this asking for problems?
Prior to yesterdays patch the customs and contraband issue was allready a major problem. Now you changed yet another good to contraband (without any sort of warning whatsoever...Evil or Very Mad) and we are still waiting for any smuggling skill or a way to smuggle goods so that we don't get standing hits and fines 100% of the time.........Exclamation

So i should be able to haul them out of empire space without problems?
Will it stay this way or will they become real contraban like drugs in some of the next patches?

Wondering if i should ship them to the border or not.

There are no plans to make Customs Officials confiscate the tags or fine you (or shoot you down for that matter) for carrying them. However I cannot say that this will never be done, I just don't have the authority to decide something like that.

Also, you should now be able to sell them to NPCs in the pirate regions.

I would just like to thank Zrakor for responding to this post, it's really appreciated!

Sometimes all the community wants is just some kind of acknowledgement that the Dev's see what we are saying. In this case, it would have been nice for the changes to have been mentioned before, but they were not and that is in the past, complaining about it will accomplish nothing. Zrakor, please don't be upset or frustrated about the comments made here, we (or at least I) really appreciate your responses. Thank's for taking your valuable time to respond!

If it does get done, though, they probably won't put it into the patchnotes before making the changes live. Rolling Eyes

I fail to see how a dogtag would ever be considered "contraband". Go into any military surplus store in the (real) world, and you'll find tags, uniforms and insignia for sale - most of it from the same country that the store is in.

With so many things broken about Eve right now, why oh why did something stupid like this get priority???

Somehow i doubt you cany kill a bunch soldiers, take their tags and wave them around in their base without getting you skull resized Wink

Just a small update:

You won't be able to sell your Empire tags to pirates yet, the change apparently didn't make it out in the last patch as I thought. It will make it out in the next static update though, which is currently scheduled for tuesday.

Great, and I read this after I trashed them... I trash all illegal stuff since there isn't really any way to smuggle them.. not even a skill to make it easier.

Illegal stuff is just in-game to annoy you. Trash it and be a FREE soul Exclamation Very Happy
