I had been on my own for about a month an a half learning the game in emp space (currently my char is 10 days away from being 3 months old). Once I felt comfortable with it and got my skill points up I started looking for a corp to join. I am bored with emp space so I decided I would like to try to get on with a 0.0 corp in an alliance. So I got on this forum and found one that looked good and applied. After about a week they accepted me and I went out to one of their pos's to see what it was like as I had not been in 0.0 space yet. On the second day while I was logged off one of the directors got paranoid because I was 'Hanging around their pos' and booted me without consulting anyone else. When I logged on next I auto warped back to the pos and was immediately blown up. I lost my ship and all of the equipment on it. They later replaced my ship and equipment and the CEO said it was a mistake and asked me to reapply but I would like to feel a part of the corp and contribute 100% to it but because of this incident I don't think I would ever have been trusted and I would not have trusted them. Not a good way to join a corp. I realize I probably rushed into things too quickly.

The second time I spent some time looking for a really good corp that looked like it would fit me and where I could do some good for them. After finding one that looked like it would be a good fit I made a really nice app that took 3 hours to make and spent two weeks talking to the corp members and felt that we were getting along great. They even complimented me on the app and said I would be a good fit. So I logged on every night for two weeks and talked to the members and everything was going fine. At the end of two weeks I get a letter that says - After reviewing your app we have decided not to accept you. No reason, no explanation, nothing that I can use to find out what I am doing wrong so I can try to fix it. There goes two weeks and a lot of effort.

Now I can understand and agree that corps can choose who they want as members. I have no clue what information they are using to judge by though an I don't want to waste another two weeks just applying to one corp so here is my application for all 0.0 corps (which is the one I posted to the second corp with a few mods).

I am looking to join a corp that is part of an alliance in 0.0 space. I do not wish to join a pirate corp or one that grief’s other players. I have 3 accounts and my main char has just reached 2.5 mil sp and I have just about finished maxing all my learning skills. My other chars are working on learning skills and have 1 mil sp and 400k sp

I left SWG about 2 and a half months ago due to the NGE(patch) that left that game fubar after playing for close to 2 years. I had a great time playing with my guild mates and am looking for the same experience in EVE. I am on the west coast US and mostly play from 6pm to 9pm on week days and most of the day on weekends. I also get every other Friday off so 3 day weekends every other week :). I am currently in my own corp and mining kernite in empire space and getting bored by myself and I am ready to take my training wheels off and go to work.

What I can do for your corp
I currently have the skills to mine ice so I can help you keep your POS's supplied with fuel (medium mining barge). I can also mine anything that does not require a deep core miner so I can harvest minerals for the corp (I am planning on getting deep core skills soon). I do have some production skills so if needed I can help with production. I have a hauler(Mammoth) and can move stuff around to help out with logistics. I also have and alt hauler that you could leave in emp space to use for empire hauling jobs (Iteron III). I am willing and interested in helping the corp with any projects that are going on. After I get my skills built up I would definitely like to participate in PvE and PvP and help with defence and offence as the case may be. I do not have a problem sending my ships into battle and getting them blown up – I can always make or buy more. I can make enough money to pay my own way so you don’t need to support me.

Goals for my chars
Lady Blaine - This is my main char. I will be training as a miner first then production and research. I eventually would like to work with research agents and start acquiring BPO's. My near term goals are to finish learning skills(just about done) then get mod deep core miner II's and an Apoc for mining. Currently I can ice mine in a med mining barge and can use mod strip miner II's.

Jennifer Merrill - This is my main hauler and can currently pilot a Mammoth. Future plans are to continue with hauler skills and work on some of the less used support ship skills like Recon ships, Logistics, Covert Ops etc. I can also pursue any other interesting and off the beaten path skills that I do not want to waste time on with my main.

Bruno Cziller – I will be training this char as a pure fighter. Currently training learning skills so this one will take about a month to mature.

If you have any queations or need to contact me please send me an eve-mail to my main char in game or please post on this thread.

Even if you are not interested or looking for a new corp member could you can answer the following question:

What the hell does it take to join a corp in this game????

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sorry to hear you have had so many problems,

CIC is a Freelancing alliance we do not have any POS that i know of Shockedbut there are alot of diffrent Corps in the alliance. We can be found all over EvE in all aspects.
0.0 included.
Just 4 rules 'No Piracy, No Scamming, No Thievery , No Smaktalk ... just Freedom'
They are all good people and i would just say when in game drop by freelancing chat and ask about what some of the corps are about.

The main alliance Corp would be Freelancing, You mite just find you can do all you want with out giving up your freedom and make some friends that will make you feel at home.

Have a look at the Freelacning thread here.Good People.

A month and a half old character could very well be an alt, and one that goes straight for a pos is suspicious.

I would have kicked you to :)

Hi Lady Blaine,

Would love to have you in my corp. We are a pirate/mercenary corp. We have access to 0.0 space. We have teamspeak. We have a pretty active corp. But we like going to war. We can train and help out with ships and isk if needed. If you would like to evemail or conv me in the game to discuss things. We are a mature corp. Good luck if my corp isnt for you.Very Happy

Hmm... I guess I should have asked the corp what they wanted me to do first and went where they said. I had not been in 0.0 and was curious what was out there. I did not realize the level of paranoia that exists in this game. It was not like this in SWG or the other MMO's I have played an I am not sure what the cause of it is.

Also you mentioned that a month and a half char could be an alt (mine is 2 and a half but same diff). Does this mean that if you did not create your char when eve first came out then you have no chance of joining a 0.0 corp?

Also one of the reasons I am interested in joining a 0.0 alliance that controls part of 0.0 space is that when I looked at the map of the galaxy it reminds me of the board game RISK. You have all of these player controled areas of space made up of players continually fighting over territory and resources and you have the chance to be one of the pieces. This is really interesting to me and is the reason I find empire space boring. You can't control it and it can't be contested. I want to be out there helping to build outpost's and pos's go to war with other alliances over territory etc. It might be that I do not have enough skill points yet but I can do grunt work till they get better.

Sorry to hear you have had some "issues" getting into a corp.

As to the question why such paranoia is shown by Corps? Well that is mostly due to some well publicized and not so well publicized Corp theft happening in the past.

I would point you in the direction of ASCN, they are at this time IMO the biggest/best player community out there and it might be a good idea to talk to them.
I think they have a recrtuitment thread in this forum... EDF - John McCreedy ASCN EDF Thread

good luck out there. and try some other thread Posters in the forums......... and NO VNTR is not open to recruits Very Happy

Sorry to hear about your difficulties in finding a corp, It can be quite hard to make the first step into a decent corp when your a new player for no fault of your own.

I'd be interested in talking to you however, you can read more about R-Gen here in our recruitment post and here on our website. Stop by the R-Gen channel ingame if you want to talk as i think we could be a good match Smile.

I too am sorry about the events that transpired, unfortunately it was my corp that is described in the first paragraph, but you had a different name at the time.

The paranoia that you speak of is a direct result of corp theives and spies that exist in this game, due to it's mechanics. I felt that you were an honest player, but most of my directors did not. They felt that your directed questions about our pos locations and operations were suspicious, and, when they felt it was too much, booted you from the corp. The director that did so, didn't realize that you were logged at the pos when he did. That is why we replaced your brutix and equipment and returned your can.

I wish you better luck in the future, and suggest you get with a corp, perhaps eve university, that is more suited to your "age" in the game. As before, I appologize for my corps role in your series of unfortunate events. Good luck to you, fly safe.

OMG Shyalud - Thank you for replying to this and letting me know what happened :) I did not want to mention corp names so there would be no posibility of hindering recruitment prospects.

Mustaph Pasha (The char I sent out to 0.0) I still have but I am not training him anymore because I do not like the way his stats turned out. The low int and mem were really starting to be a pain.

Again thank you for your post :)

I dunno if you found a corp yet, but if you want pvp, lots and lots of pvp, see the Omega Corp recruitment. You seem to have the patience and aggressiveness that may very well develop intoa solid pvper.

P.S. I'm nota recruiter, infact, I dont think duke has given me any hanger rights yets... but I am moved by your tale enough to suggest OC to you.

Don't thank me, I didn't do much for ya. I just wanted you to know that it was more a "history of dastardly eve characters" then it was of your actions that led up to what happened. I really do hope you find the right corp.

If I had my way, I'd let in everyone, give them all access to everything and sniff dandelions.

Unfortunately, the minute you let your gaurd down in eve, you et looted and you're posting about how ISTVAAN destroyed your corp....

We've been robbed a few times, not too seriously, compared to others, but being robbed by a member just sucks. This has made some of my trusted commanders quite suspicious of new folks, but they have been fair for the most part. You got screwed, I'll be the first to admit it, but it was mostly by mistake.

I do hope you feel that we re-imbursed you adequately for your losses.

Come check us out.

There is a standard reply that is sent when an application is rejected. Many corps (including mine) require that you only apply once approved for admission into their corp. Any application that they did not ask you to submit will be rejected and you will receive an automated message like the one you got. It doesn't (necessarily) mean they do not want you in their corp, only that either 1) they didn't want you in their corp, or 2) you did not follow their proceedures for admission, or 3) it was an accidental rejection of application.

As for the PoS thing, well, new members poking around in secure areas causes concern to many. There are a lot of alts in this game, and people use those alts to achieve goals they are unable to through normal game mechanics. It's a bit like looking at someone elses screen while at a LAN party, or unplugging their mouse, so that you can win. A bit childish, but does achieve results. As such, new players to Eve pay the price for this, as you found out the hard way.

As for the recommendation to join EDF, you probably wont meet our minimum requirements for joining EDF at this time, but you are free to come chat with us in "Bar - EDF" channel in game. There are many friendly helpfull people there who might be able to suggest other alternatives for you, or get acquainted with you for when you do meet our requirements and wish to consider applying for EDF. Our application process should be outlined in our recruitment thread. It starts with filling out an application at our website or chatting with us at Bar - EDF. And thanks to Sypher313 for the nice recommendation, though I am still a bit perplexed by the recommendation comming from an enemy alliance, but thank you, I suppose it should mean more comming from an enemy than a friend eh? yeah exactly,Im the one that kicked you from the corp and I will explain why. You were in the corp for max of 24 hours at the very most and you showed up at our pos to "check it out" while we were in the middle of a war with the 5 and warmongers camping the hell out of the systems you had to travel thru and had no problems getting there what soever. then you just happen to be one of teh most well informed members of the corp as to what is going on with the active wars and such after just a few hours in the corp. now its possible that you could be a really smart guy and/or a forum ***** but when your coming up with the kill bowards from our enemys and resiting blog entries it looks alil suspiscious. I went with my gut feeling and I made the call I had to make to protect our corp.

as far as the new corp kicking you it might be that you are a lil too "professional" with your applications for a 2 month old character. It jsut looks plain old wierd to have someone so new to the game know exactly all the info you might need to know about them and have it so readily available.

You are interested in 0.0, pos's and have 3 accounts so early in the game. To some it might seem like you are more interested in farming stuff and characters from eve rather then doing your part in a corp or alliance.

Best advice is to keep trying and dont get discouraged by the negative responses.

There are many people in this game who play this game to the EXTREME. They forget the "FUN" in game. They would rather have less people in their corp because they think your a spy. It is very sad how such a fun game can mirror Real Life.

Keep looking, I trust you will find a happy home.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you for all of your offers and advice. R-Gen has accepted me as a member of their corp. I guess I should have posted here in the first place Smile

I guess I did not understand the issues around being too curious about base locations etc. I should have waited and let them tell me where to go. Live and learn.

As for the three accounts I know a lot of people have more than one. The devs probably set it up so you want to have more than one account. How many multiple accounts would there be if you could train the three chars on one account at the same time? In my case I use one account to mine, the second one to haul and the third one to keep the rats off. I had to do it this way cause there was no one to help.

Thanks again for your help and advice Smile

You dont need 3 accounts to play this game. even when I started solo the first few months you can get buy with 1 char. having to play with multiple accounts would make this game feel like work.

The weekend I went down there the warmongers had not yet declaired war and you had a cease fire with the 5 for the duration of the weekend so it was not too difficult to get there. As for being too informed I got most of the info from reading the forums while waiting for my app to be processed and later from asking questions from your corp mates Smile

But I realize that in a game like this you have so little information to base a decision on that the only thing you can do is use the actions of the applicant to help you decide. Looking back on it from your point of view and the info you had at the time you probably made the only choice you could. Thanks for letting me know what happend Very Happy
