Hi there,

Just wanted to let new players know that EvECast has started a new section on Video tutorials. The first one about Finding Agents in Eve has already been posted on the Evecast website. You can find it here.

Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions about the tutorial.

Ah, nuts! It would have to be an .avi file! My QuickTime player never works. It always comes back with an error about the "codec" missing and not available on the quicktime server. :-(

I really wanted to watch this!

Veras,

I hope you're using Windows. I can direct you to the codec download page for Windows Media Player. You can find it here

Download the codec for the version of Windows Media player you have and you're all set to go. It has the MPEG-4 codec which is the one the file is encoded in.

Hope this helps.

I'm gonna try and get my self together for future episodes of eve, and should be easier when i'm back in my new apartment. meanwhile, good goin guys, and keep it up! i love the new features!

miss flying with ya'll,

i do have one question though, what does quality mean in regards to an agent?

Frash,

The quality of the agent is a ranking of the agent within his agent level.
For instance, a Level 2, Quality 5 agent is lower than a Level 2, Quality 6 Agent. Also, the agent quality affects the difficulty of a mission and the rewards you get from it.
So when you're looking for an agent pick the one with the highest level, and if you have a couple of agents with the same level, then choose the one with the higher quality.
Which also means a Level 1, Quality 19 Agent is lesser than a Level 2, Quality 1 agent.

Hope this helps.

Well all I can say is it will not load for me, locks up my windows media player every time I try.

Real shame because I find the agent information extremely poor and confusing I have found so far.

Good point about the avi format, bad choice there, if I had noticed it was in that format I would have just not even bothered.

So all I can give this is a D- for effort, not much good when it does not work.

Try using Winamp
Then after you've downloaded and installed, then try. It'll work.

Ozmodan,

If winamp does not work then try the VideoLan Player. I'm told it can play almost any file. You can find it here.

This avi file was created with the Microsoft MPEG 4 codec which can be downloaded here

Also please download the file to your computer before you play it. Since the website hosting the file has heavy traffic, you might not be able to play it directly off the site.

Thats all the explanation I have. I hope the suggestions above help.
