On this day, 4 years ago, EVE Online was released and the masses rejoiced because a new age of MMOG gaming and enlightenment was upon them - "The Age of EVE".
To commemorate this blessed event we would like you all, players, developers and volunteers alike, to post your most memorable event in the world of EVE. A lot has happened during these 4 years and we would like to celebrate this with a trip down memory lane. |

I remember mining Omber all night in an Imicus back in the summer of '03 so I could afford a Thorax. Then using that Thorax to help my mate buy a Dominix. We both still play together, although we live three timezones apart and have never met in RL.
The only thing that tops that was being accepted into Aurora last summer and making some kickass events. When I see posts from players in Intergalactic Summit discussing whats been going on and whats happening, it makes it all worthwhile that you know your efforts have made an impact on players.
Here's to another four (and more) years \o/

Oh my. Sadly, four years ago I had not yet heard of the goodness that is EVE. Not long after leaving another game I remember logging into EVE and just hanging outside a station for a while marveling. I didn't want to dock, it was like a work of art! EVE has brought me back to the old school days of things like ELITE, Wing Commander and all the amazing games I used to play, that got my heart beating fast, made me stay up late (it's 4:20 AM right now, lol) and really is one of the best games I've ever played. Props to CCP, the dev team and all the people who made and continue to make EVE what it is- hands down, the best SF MMO game on the planet. Happy birthday! |

Happy birthday everybody.
Most memorable event: ramboing through the mara - passari gate in a condor and surviving. Ok there was one guy hardly a camp but still, never had the heart pounding like that in a video game before. |

Bit like the rest of the game really. Still, glad to be here after all these years. Most memorable thingmy? It would be the Crielere event. *Added* OMG! Just went back through my Eve Newsletters to make sure I spelt Crielere correctly, and I spotted this: Originally by: Eve Newsletter 1 Last Sunday evening (2004.02.15) at 20:45 GMT, 7250 played EVE Online at the same time! We here at CCP are confident in declaring this a world record for the highest number of players together, at the same time, in the same world.
Win! No, we didn't forget anything, we actually discussed this a while for a few days and decided this would be a cool thing to do - Wrangler |

What?! Four years already? I've only been here ten months! I guess my most memorable moment ever was fragging a pie-rat Brutix with my newblol Heavy Missile Ferox, with Battlecruiser I skill. My CEO spanked me hard after finding out about that. |

Looking foreward to X more years, where X is countably infinite Best thing in EVE are all the friends i made here and have already met in RL. And of course getting killed in my 1st shiny Merlin back in 2004. I was very upset and loved it at the same time. This is what EVE is. And of cource becoming a member of ISD and helping to make EVE a bit better everyday. |

To answer the original post, my most memorable moment so far in EVE was being in an Imicus in .3 space doing some exploration. There was a pirate (or 10, lol) in the system, and I had to be extremely careful not to get found.
I was both relieved and disappointed to get "No scan signatures detected" because it meant that I could leave, but I was kind of enjoying the adrenaline of knowing it was me vs everyone in local in cat and mouse.
No other game has ever given me that shot of heart-pounding, cold-sweat adrenaline, and that's why I love this game.

Most memorable moments: My first solo kill (I donīt think I ever had that much adrenaline in my blood before) and being accepted into ISD. I love what I do there and love being part of the team.

There are 2 moments of EVE I remember most... First was in the beta days, when I was flying around my frig in one of the lower sec system, and was convoed by one of the system dwellers, of corporation who "claimed" that system. He said "Leave or be destroyed..." I replied "Can I join you guys?". People from that corp were amazing, it no longer exists, but I will always remember them and those magic times. Those were the best memories I have from playing EVE. The pure chaos and no Concord Second is when I joined ISD, cheesy I know but its true. I doubt I would be still playing the game if I haven't joined them. Getting to know them all is a great thing. Sometimes weird, but still great Bies ISD:STAR Captain |

My four year anniversary in Eve will come in a few days, when it marks the release of Eve in the U.S. That day will also mark my first player owned corp, still one of the best-run I have personally experienced. I was crushed when I returned to Eve after an enforced absense to see that absolutely everyone I remembered was in an NPC corp and not logging.
Helping undermine my second player-run corp to create my third from the ashes was particularly sweet, particularly when the guy who caused the corp to rebel against his rule came to us a couple weeks ago and humbly accepted a low-ranking position in our corp, which was much more successful than his had been with the same people.
Mining my first Crock, Bist and Ark. Mining my first Merx. Realizing that the corp we merged into had an agreement with m0o that allowed us to operate somewhat safely.
Flying a dozen Itty IVs up to Fade after our corp was invited to join Fade Union. Then having FU break apart a week later, with a complete loss among our logistical ss resources.
Then joining CFS after a couple weeks, and watching a CA cruiser and frigate force 50 ratting battleships into station just by popping up in local for a few minutes. Tackling the Rupture with a Rifter and seeing just how few people were willing to undock and kill it (I held it for about 5 minutes, some Strength and Honour guys came from several jumps out to take care of it). Seeing a second alliance disintegrate in a month. Making the decision to not trust alliance politics again.
Abandoning my deep space toons and joining an rp corp in Empire with a fresh face, and falling in love with Empire pvp-- MUCH more exciting than 0.0 in my experience. Much different tactics, filtering out two hostiles from 60+ neutrals in local presents a challege I learned to love.
Coming back from many breaks, each with a fresh new face, fresh new ambitions and experiences in areas I'd not yet ventured into.
All in all, after 4 years there is much I have to experience, and I'm not even including so-called "end-game" content. |

Happy birthday EVE!
Please fix your charsheets :D
My most memorable moment in EVE is when I was in a thorax in lowsec and I targeted a thorax in a belt. After about 30 seconds, we were both in pods. We had killed each other.
So there we are both flashing red in our pods, our drones hanging out, and then eventually getting popped to rats (poor hammerhead IIs). We convoed each other and warped away.
Man that was awesome.

Happy cinco de mayo (coincidence?)!
My most memorable moment was when i was a few hours or so old - a total nooblet, as it were. I was having a lot of fun exploring the universe, as it was. Verge Vendor and Placid, actually, at the time. I was wandering aimlessly, noticing the little number by security status slowly decreasing but becoming more amber and eventually red. At the time, I recalled some brief blurb from AURA in regards to something about low security and risks and bla bla bla. I threw those words to the wind.
I was having a good bit of fun. Picking up skills in what appeared to be empty systems. Talking to agents in those oddly quiet areas. Then I saw a flashy red guy and thought "Hey, that's cool. Or maybe that means he's angry or dangerous or something". Then I had the thought "OMG is he shooting at me? ... why? Did I do something wrong?" Before I could fathom any kind of logic, I saw this loading screen that I rapidly familiarized myself with, followed by the station screen. After some minor hindsight, and a smart-alec AURA laughing at me, I realized what had happened.
Then I thought "Cool! A game that lets people pvp when and where (almost) they want, and pve when and where (almost) they want! Best of both worlds."
Many other memorable moments, but I chose this one as a key defining moment for my future enjoyment of this game, and I am sure many others have similar memories and reactions as well. |

Happy birthday! my most memorable event was taking on 3 ships at once in PVP, tanking a raven, cerberus and thorax at once, and shields not dropping below 60%... you could tell the fear when they all ran away scared... except the thorax.
The other memorable event was outrunning cruise missiles in an executioner. |

Jumping into a 0.4 system back before you arrived at gats, and being in a pod before my screen loaded.
The pirates tried to ransom me but I had no money.
I started smacking (oh the shame) and he left me with the imortal line:
'Say hello to your clone for me'
Now i'm happily -10 and use that line whenever I ransom and they smack :) |

My best moment was chasing an apoc in my raven before the MWD nerf, both going incredibly fast but keeping at 18k with me spamming missles. he dropped 20/25 battleship BPC's when he popped. =D |

I don't think I have a particular best moment. There were lots of great moments, though. Being a total beginner and slowly working your way up to a cruiser class ship and finally flying it, that was a great moment. Being shot and podded for the very first time, which started me on pvp was a great moment.
