Edited by: Max Kentarii on 08/07/2007 19:20:01EVE Dashboard is just a light-weight desktop application which will monitor your current skill training. A picture is said to be worth more than a thousand words, so here's some screenshots. Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. To download latest version, go to eve.podzone.net/dashboard. Source code is also available for the curious and paranoid ones... If you have any suggestions, bug reports or any other comments, please post here. Also check this thread for other similar applications. Best regards, Max |

You could try running multiple instances like you do with EVE. Just copy the evedash.exe to another folder. |

What current time? You mean the UTC? That's the time in EVE (given that your computer-clock is correct). |

First.. thank you for your constructive criticism. Anyways.... 1) Yes way.. use EVEMon. I do it too, and it's a far superior application than EVEDash will ever be. 2) EVEMon has a lot more features for skill notification than EVEDash, but EVEDash let's you have a small clean window floating on top of your other windows to let you see your skill progress. 3) Rip off? Uhm.. no.. I don't quite see the resemblance.. GUI is different, source code is different, programming language is different. EVEMon doesn't have the lone rights to create applications to monitor skill traning in EVE. 4) As I said on my website: "EVE Dashboard was made for educational purposes using the EVE API." 5) If this is a ripoff, it's a ripoff of martinand's samurize script and not EVEMon. Get your facts straight Last but not least.. if you don't like it, don't use it. Why do you have to put me down when I try to contribute to the community? PS. Here are some other applications for skill monitoring... I hope they get a better review than I did... Overview of Skill Training Progress Apps using the new EVE API |

the premise looks cool, but i thought i'd drop a line and let the linux users know that this isn't compatible with wine... the app whines about an OLE error, and wine whines about faking some xml calls.
i see its written in delphi, any chance of getting a port? |

Its great but theres a few things that make me not use it.
-No (easy) multi account support. -Gotta click update when you start the program, would be nice if it just openend and used the settings last used. -It always sits on the center of the screen after reopening. -I want it to sit on top off my wallpaper but not in front of any other programs or the EVE client.
If you change it it would be awesome. |

Version 0.0.10 is out with option to change font properties among other things. Source-code is available if anyone feel like making a port of this to something else, but for the time being, I won't be doing such a thing. You could check this thread for other applications which might suit your needs. Originally by: CptEagle -No (easy) multi account support.
This isn't very high on my priority list since you can run two evedash-processes in two different folders to support multi account. Originally by: CptEagle -Gotta click update when you start the program, would be nice if it just openend and used the settings last used.
Fixed. Originally by: CptEagle -It always sits on the center of the screen after reopening.
It will now remember last window position. Originally by: CptEagle -I want it to sit on top off my wallpaper but not in front of any other programs or the EVE client.
You can now toggle "Always on top" in the traymenu. But to truly get it to float on your wallpaper, the samurize-script from martinand might be better (check link above) or perhaps someone will write a vista-gadget or google desktop gadgets some day... |

Edited by: CptEagle on 09/07/2007 11:42:27 Cool, much better. Don't wanna be a whiner, but only thing I'd like to see now is not having to double click on it to get the nice window after starting it up.
Edit: Oh damn its sitting taskbar now when I have it not hidden. |

I'll make it remember the window style in next version. The reason it's showing in taskbar is because I needed some way to select the application when it's not Always on top. Guess I can make that a switch as well. It's always nice to hear people's opinions. That's the only way I can improve the application |

hi,
nice slim tool indeed. only thing i am looking for in similar tools is the option to monitor more than 1 account. most people i know who run more than 1 char usually run them on different accounts so the option to switch between chars on an account seems rather pointless to me tbh. maybe that would be a nice feature - multiple accounts shown at once when moving the mouse over the taskbar icon, with 1 fixed "primary" per api key.
just a thought, tho ;)
anyway, nice to see how many people started creating useful tools already. |

I like EVE Dashboard, nice work Max.
If you could augment the code for multiple accounts, instead of one instance per account, that would be sweeeet. |

Edited by: Max Kentarii on 27/07/2007 19:19:26 Real multi-account/character support would require quite some rewrite. I might get into if after I finalize version 1.0. Been somewhat pre-occupied lately.. |
