I agree with death kill hand down on both movies , exitenz was puke bad , but as for XXX omg wtf . I know my Heinlein back to front, or at least I like to think I do, and that movie had nothing to do with what Heinlein was trying to say. HOWEVER. there is no doubt that the movie had nothing at all to do with the book. this is a classic problem with book conversions, "Bladerunner" has very little at all to do with "do androids dream of electric sleep?" the question is, does it being different from the book mean its intrinsically bad? i admit there are some really crappy parts to the "starship troopers" but some hilarious stuff as well WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?Doogie Howser, M.D in jackboots was great, the antiwar subtext with the soldiers as meat for the grinder (h!tler youth) was hilarious as well. Just remember though, that it is not the book and has nothing really to do with the book. (the sex scene between Johnny Rico and Dizzy <shudders in horror>, dudes, Dizzy is a guy!) it's a trash film with some fun action and couple of amusing themes regarding war and Naz!sm, but the philosophy from the book is just not there. worst movie ever is "The Phantom Menace" not only is it a crap film, it undermines the worth of three good films. virgin birth, for god's sake George get and original plot! |

Starship Troopers was a good movie, with a highly satyrical tone that made it quite hilarious; think about the recruiter without legs, arms and with only one eye that says "The army made me the man I'm today".

Owell - Alien vs Predator HAS to be the thing they took out of Michal Moore's intestinal tracts during the autopsy and some genius decided that the half digested script was worth putting on ebay for £2 and sold it to guess who?
On the other hand - taking younger sister to watch a certain Anime film based around some warped concept of ****fighting with tentacle monsters in and voices that I wanted to know who I had to kill to make it stop.
Those that do not know the film of which I speak are blessed innocents - I never wish to hear a certain yellow rodent say it's name again and noone should ever speak of it EVER..... |

/signed I really, really wanted Ghost Rider to be good. Nicolas Cage, one of my favourite actors, portraying one on the darkest characters in comics... how could it fail. Bastards! It should have been awesome, but they took the edge off and turned him into another run of the mill hero, and you don't hire someone like Nicolas Cage and then not bother giving him a decent script to work with. Seriously People, I'm not sure why all of you are down on the crappy SciFi, action or horror movies...yes they are crappy but can they even compare to garbage like The English Patient, The Wedding Planner, My Best Friends Wedding or any other drama/romantic comedy drivel that someone else has forced you to sit thru. Admit it, those are the movies that allowed reality TV to rear its ugly head. Please, join with me and lets put a stop to generic dramatic and comedic plots. Think of the future generations that will thank you.
