There is currently a problem with a few Starbases that makes it possible for those attacking them to increase their rate of fire so there's almost no delay. This is an exploit and we will take appropriate action against those found using it. We are currently working on a fix and it will be deployed as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Isn't this one of the reasons why POS warfare was prohibited in the first place? So POS warfare is allowed again => People will attack some, so if you get a ROF of 0 you get banned, even if you can't help it that your dread is just plain evil and made of pure Win?
Hmmm, seems a bit weird tbh

From what I'm getting so far, I'm assuming the starbase fix was to fix the forcefields not working, which was resulting in players accessing and destroying structures they shouldn't be able to. Since starbase warfare has now been allowed, I think it's safe to assume that the 0-ROF bug can't be used accidentally. Either that or CCP isn't making sense at all.ugh

Prohibit POS warfare!
Fix all problems with POS!
TEST that you've fixed the problems!
Allow POS warfare!

This is not a difficult procedure to follow.....

Considering that it took CCP a few days to put up the POS ban in the first place.

And considering that it revoked that ban, only to put it back in place a little while later.

How are you going to tell the different between people who try and exploit the situation, and those who do it completely by accident?

Maybe you guys need a traffic-light system:

Red - No POS warfare
Green - Pew-Pew-Pew.

So do you expect people on 0 rof bug to just sit there with a precision clock on their desk and only activate their guns when their normal rof would allow them?

In case you didnt notice the 0 rof isnt something you exploit, YOUR GAME forces you to use it when you try firing on a POS. It would be as if you boosted mission rewards 100x by mistake then tell anyone thats running a mission he is exploiting.

Seriously CCP what the christ...

*shrug* A long time ago (2003 or 2004) it was prohibited to use decline mission tactic to gain insane ammounts of implants for a while (every 10 orso missions you would get an implant).

I am speechless, yet I posted. Mad

The response time on these exploits are simply glacial. Poor poor GMs, the petition system must be going nuts.

Would someone mind telling me which starbases and which dreads fall under this 'exploit'?

In fact, could you ban PoS warfare again? I hate it anyway :P

Any chance of clarity upon this as its hard to do POS warfare when you warp fleet of dread in and then find POS shoots back but you cant shoot it as you suddenly find you have a ROF of zero soon as you go into seige - for example. As you can see it would be case of oh, so if I shoot I get banned and if I dont shoot I die. You can see the multitude of issues this could entail.

Personly I would reinstate POS warfare until this has been fully resolved or until you can clarify EXACTLY what is an issue. You said its an issue and to not fully outline the exploit is when some know and others could blindly fall into it is pretty much neglagence at its zenith (you work for goverment in yoru sparetime I wonder :).

So please outline exactly what is the issue so people can avoid and work around it or reinstate POS warfare BAN until resolved. Until then leaving undefined grey area's is only asking for trouble.

I hope you see the sence in this, given all the facts.

Lol I can see why dev's don't post anything unless they absolutely have to, like going to work KNOWING that your entire day is gonna be filled with huge flatulant men and women who whine about having to walk up three steps to get to your office cause its HARD on them. Chill out everyone, why is everyone suprised when there is a huge patch that things go wrong? In what game does that NOT happen? Simmer, take a smoke break of your choice and play something else for a little if you can't deal.

-P.S. this post may have been influenced by A) a long day at work or B) a smokebreak of my own, which dissolves me of any due responsibility for said post. Have a nice day :)

Which Starbases? How do you increase your rate of fire?

Without knowing this, it is very well possible to "exploit" by mistake.
