i didnt feel like looking at all the posts so if someone else came up with this sorry. After spending many hours in a covert ops ship scaning and hacking, i came up with this little idea.. its not refined yet. please feel free to add any ideas. If anyone ask Rimor is latin for explorer as far i know... english to latin transtors from the net. Paper
Name Rimor
Role: Deep space exploration Class Exploration Cruiser Developer: ORE
The Rimor was conceived and designed by Outer Ring Excavations in response to a growing need for deep space exploration vessles with the ability to sustain long operations in uninhabited areas of space. While the Rimor was built the ORE corperation, it was designed to do away with the covert ops ships for deep space exploration. Taking strong points from the covert ops ship as the covert ops cloak and added a larger cargo bay, drone bay, and light armorments. While the Rimor can fit light weapons and drones for defence her over all defence lays in her cloaking ablities, her light armor and weak shields still leaves her frail.
Covert Ops Skill Bonus: -98% to -100% reduction in Cloaking Device CPU use per level and 15% reduction to duration/activation time of modules requiring Astrometrics
Deep space exploration class Bonus: 5% bonus access difficuty and range in codebreaker modules per level. 5% bonus to access diffculty and range in analyzer modules per a level. 5% bonus to access difficuty and range in salvager modules.
Class bonus: 50% reduction to duration/activation time, capacitor use and range to Data and Composition modules.

I like the idea. This would be a really nice ship for anybody who is really into Exploration and all that good stuff. I'll back this idea so i would say Yes =) |

totally agree.. we definitely need a cruiser with scanning bonus and cloak abilities for exploration purposes. Gets my vote! |

I love the idea and think that it would be kinda nice at have this ship in the game seeing is how theres everything else out there except this type of ship. Yeah the cov ops ships are good but this ship will give people a better chance of probing or finding better dead space sites. The onlything is alot of people wont just use it for exploration as they will start using it to probe mission runners etc.. and thats just going to cause a nerf within the game yet once again. You get my vote

I trained exploration hoping that it would eventually get interesting. Still waiting... A ship like this would be a welcome addition. So much could be done through exploration, and maybe, just maybe, adding real content to the game would get me to play it instead of tormenting its players.  |

Nice idea, I like it. Adding enough-to-go-around worthwhile exploration sites would be really swell too. From what I heard, it's a fruitless goosechase most times. |

Those bonuses seem overly large. After all, why train those three skills (salvaging, hacking, and archeology) to 5 when you can train this skill to 4? Bonus probably should be 2% per level for those three things plus a scan strength boost (say 3% per level) for scan probes (not recon probes?).

i really dont see how those bonus are over powered its a exploration ship designed for exploration only. i did change the bonus on covop for exploration probes not recon probes

seems very nice. That cruiser must be a T2 isn't it ? In this case, it should have only 2 rigs slot. I would love starting Exploration, but don't have the skills yet.  Anyway /signed |

This is quite similar to an idea Ive had bouncing around for a while, so obviously I like it. But I have some suggestions:
-Make it be with another faction, like mordus or sisters. ORE is gallente, which has relevance when it comes to BPOs and materials and bla bla bla so one race shouldnt dominate all the non-combat ships. -Why the cloaking bonus? Normal cloaks dont eat very much cpu to start with, and covert cloaks should stay covert/recon only or cov ops would be totally obsolete. -If its going to be mainly a miniprofession ship, which we need, the prerequisite skills should be the miniprofessions. -Too many bonuses, should probably be split into a miniprof ship and a salvage boat, with relevant bonuses. This also takes care of the fact that salvage and hacking need very different slot layouts to be effective. |

i did talk toa freind about who makes it said i should do a join operation between ORE ane SOE. made it because when your waiting for scan probes you can cloak sit their cloaked its not planed to be a combat ship even thought of making it so you cant even fit recon probes on the ship. if you have a better idea for the bonus let me know gadly like to see them. |

Way too good! Too good in general and WAY too many bonuses! T1 ships only have 2 bonuses, this one has 8!
It'll instantly obsolete the use of any other ships for exploration, taking away the good EVE tradition of having to choose your ship based on your perception of pro's and con's.

I think this is a great idea for doing 0.0 exploration.
As far as people probing out mission runners that's allready done and with the ability to spilt your mission reward and faction gained with your squad (up to 5 people) there's no reason not run in missions in a group so you can take out those pesky people that try and invade your mission. |

Not bad. Too many bonuses and Im not really sure what it can do that a cov ops frigate cant. Its tank looks too weak (at first glance) to fend off 0.0 rat spawns.
Might not be a bad little pvp ship. Web, scram, MWD + 3 ECM in the mids, maybe some cap replen on the lows, or med nos perhaps on the highs leaving the lows free for ECM modules.
Id rather see a ship with scanning bonuses and a degree of fire power, but leave the cloak off.

A good idea, but I'd rather have race specific ships with combat capabilities better than cruisers, but worse than hacs so they can actually run medium difficulty sites. I would also recommend that its scan time bonus be linked to the Covert Ops skill so that explorers don't waste their time training it instead of whatever skill this ship would require (deep space explorere, heavy explorer, etc).
So as a general notion, it gets a /signed |
