After a successful empire merc career, my corp decided to join a new alliance and help them carve out some 0.0 We decided on a rather bland portion of Pure Blind controlled by the Turkish alliance Scalar Federation. We start flying through their entry system, putting pos randomly into reinforced, waiting to see their responses. As soon as we hit their cap ship maintenance system, they started blowing billions of isk, hiring Contraband, a former Church alliance corp, and various others to come defend them. Rumor has it they are or have hired Chaos Inc, and tried to hire Ore mongers as well to come out to their space. Gr0un Zer0 currently has us decced in empire to help, this on the heels of several other empire decs on us supposedly called by Scalar. (Btw, they referred to Contra as their alt corp) They previously owned 7 systems, they surrendered 1 to Ore, and now semi control 6 systems. We have several POS' up in their gateway and fighting continues every day. They are afraid to hit our towers without tons of merc support, so we pretty much get to slaughter them freely. The interesting thing to note, is these systems abut Triumv systems. Every time we siege a tower, Tri seems to come running at Scalar's call. We bring a dread, Scalar seems to tell Tri to get down here and save them, and Tri comes a running. I do find that rather amusing they seem to help defend one of the worst pvp alliances I've seen besides Dark Taboo. Scalar is slowly falling however, they have lost 3/4 of their corps, only have 2 actual active corps left. They have lost 2 rorqs (supposedly petitioned 1 and got it back even though it warped into a dictor bubble between POS). They lost a couple dreads, billions in ships, some disappeared from their pos shields ;) They have gone trough a minimum of at least 30 billion so far, trying to fight off a newer alliance, and it's getting amusing. They keep spending more and more isk hiring more and more alliances / corps to come play. For our first real 0.0 combat as an alliance, it's been an absolute blast smacking these guys all over empire and 0.0. POS sieging is terribly boring, and tbh, it's fun not giving a monkey's arse about the politics of goons, bob, and the rest. If anyone actually cares (expecting random flames here of course since this is COAD) I wll update people as our progress continues. I'd be happy to let everyone know who else Scalar keeps hiring to come after us there, as I figure anyone they hire probably has some people who want to blow them up  I figured I'd post breaking the rules, a legit main character with only a little flames going on! I'd say good luck to Scalar, but I wouldn't mean it. Just give up and get out of the systems now please and save us some ammo on those tower... |

Hi Heartcarver,
I can sense some frustration in your words and I can completely understand it. But than again this is the nice thing about Eve-Online. I don't know any other game which has this kind of organised mercenary business, mostly setup by players themselves. Scalar are using this to their favour and you can't blame them for that.
As for your corp and alliance. As it is your first real 0.0 combat as an alliance I can say that having opponents that fight back usually is more fun. I hope you will learn a lot from this and get better and better each day. I respect your alliance and your corp and I hope we will meet in space more often and have some good fights in the time we will be here.

we fought Scalar a few weeks back. They are epic fail. They go through ships like a cheap hooker goes through condoms. They throw even more isk at hiring people to be friendly towards them. I can tell you this from both sides of SCALAR's guns.
They have such ridiculous amounts of isk, that they can afford to continue hiring everyone. I wont however talk about where the isk comes from. |

Tbh, I am not frustrated with them hiring mercs to come help and the like. I ran a successful merc corp for months, I understand that portion of Eve quite well.
They sold mom's so I expected them to have isk, lots of it (thus the fun loots).
The fact that Tri seems to come at their command is what amazes me, they have on a few occasions coming running to save Scalar, and I thought Tri was a blow everyone up sort of alliance. Hard to siege a pos when as soon as a dread is cynoed in Scalar manages to get a Tri gang running here to save their ass. However after this weekend's explosion of Tri, I don't know what to think of them anymore. IMO, if an alliance is completely, totally unable to defend itself without massive help, and labels itself as a pvp alliance... there is something amiss.
Very few people can handle everything in the world solo. Bob used to have MC working for them, hiring mercs is a vital part of the game. However, being completely useless without those mercs... is awkward.
As for you guys (Soldiers of Eve - some of Scalar's hired help), GL and look forward to some fights where one side or the other has some even numbers and its not a straight gank fest :)

Why do people who know nothing about others comment as if they have inside access to what the leaders of tri think. Tri doesnt even have scalar federation set + so as for us being at there command plz shut up about things you dont know, im not sure if this is a desperate plea for tri to stop interupting your pos destruction but if cap ships are being used nxt door to our home region, it kinda of sparks at little interest for us, maybe thats why we try killing your cap ships. |

Since we started fighting Scalar Federation (from way back before SONE came here) we have done about 22bil in ship damages only to Scalar not including their capital POS (where we killed one of their rorquals, and you joined us with one dread and two BS), and that's excluding Draca Longen's faction/deadspace loot filled ships. Since SONE came to this region you have negotiated standings with us, and to think we were working against you in any period of the time you were here is false information. I understand the desire to do PR, but at least put it in the right light. Quote:

They killed one of your towers, and attacked more (but failed to do anything productive), they've attacked ours on three separate instances, in which they've lost a total of four dreads (these engagements not involving SONE). Quote:

What? TRI are definitely not working for Scalar, this information has been made up by you. TRI are welcome to confirm this. Quote:

Taking all the credit for this is a bit silly. You had 5 active people active in the area when 3/4 of their corps left them (which happened when 0MG war-dec:ed them). Quote:

I am not claiming to know what your leadership thinks. Nor do I really want to tbh. I just said I thought it was interesting that your alliance seems to come running as soon as Scalar calls, whatever the reason may be. Never expected you to be at anyone's beck and call was all. It's a pretty good Scalar plan though. Why defend anything if you can call your neighbors to shoot stuff for you ^^ As for a plea, lol. I don't beg or plea anything, I'll spend hours shooting pos' with T1 frigates if needs be (sniping punisher FTW!) |

Nor am I taking credit for the wanton destruction of Scalar. You guys have done a hell of a job, and smacked them around considerably. I am not trying to diminish your accomplishments at all.
Nor do I think Tri is actively working for Scalar. That would imply Scalar is paying them, which I doubt they are. They do have the ability to make Tri show up though as their will, which can say alot depending on how you look at it.

It's not hard to look on the map and see where a cyno has been fired. Heartcarver, this is not the way you treat allies living right next door to you. It says alot about what you think of Ore Mongers and in that solidifies my opinion of SONE. |

Are you stupid? scalar has no ability to make tri do anything, were not even friendly with them, im guessing what happened is we got reports of dreads sieging a pos and thought seen as it was only in pure blind we might be able to get a cap kill, which we did |
