She wasn't with EVE for long but we will still miss her. She worked well with the community and proposed some cool ideas for EVE.

This is one case where I think CCP should name a system after her and place a monument in it.

I thought about placing this in CSM forums but I think this is the best place for it.

Here is the link for those of you that don't know what I am talking about.

If not a station or a system, how about a naming a new ship a "Taera" when the next bunch is introduced.

Or one of them memorial things like is outside of the Emp Family station in Amarr.

I'd like the ship idea better. But either way, -signs-.

I'm okay with the system

But the ship idea I think is bad. Especially when I think of the people who would come on the boards complaining that the ship is broken, etc. The explicatives that could be used would be very ... poor taste.

I must agree. I do think it would be a good idea for something to represent such a beautiful spirit.

One small catch - it has to be a fun, regardless if it is a system or a station.

I also agree, naming a ship might be a bad idea.

This is dreadful news. I didn't know her of course, but she's the only CCP employee I ever had any sort of back-and-forth communication with. She sent me an email assuring me that the Devs didn't think I was a habitual spammer when I asked about the wording of the spam-notice email I got for some thoughtless post I made not long ago.

I wholeheartedly endorse naming anything in Eve after her that people will interact with routinely, be it a system or a station or such. Naming a ship the Taera might be a bit morbid, but a system, station, or monument would be appropriate.

When Ambulation rolls out, pick a station in a high-traffic area (Jita?) and name the gaming parlor on it after her.

Call it "Taera's".

Given what I know of her, she'd get a kick out of it.

[personally i like the ship idea better, muc easier to pay tribute by owning one then by visiting the system now and again]

Guys, CCP have never created a momument to any of the few players who have unfortunately passed away, nor can they. Put yourself in their shoes. If they manifest something ingame for one, they'll have to do it for all of them lest they attract accusations of being cold hearted monsters. Then there will be demands for people who have been turned into vegetables, or had other tragedies. Or people who have died who didn't play eve, but just knew someone who did. How do you decide? And imagine the terrible weight of accusations placed on the poor people who have to make these decisions, or depths that forum-arguments will decend to as people debate over whether there should also be a monument to a soldier-player who died in Iraq - with both halves of the debate threatening to quit. Don't even go there.

The best you can hope for is to build / capture a station, or build a titan, and name those after her. IIRC this has been done by some alliances already, in respect of the memory of certain people.

She was a member of CCP not a player, slightly different.

Not really, I can imagine players asking something along the lines of "the lives of CCP workers are worth more than your players!?"

I mean, I can completely understand if CCP wouldn't want to risk it. Opens up a can of worms. With machine guns.

I think there's a HUGE difference between a member of the playerbase and a CCP employee. I don't think anyone would object--and if anyone wants to DEMAND a memorial for a random player they can damn well make their own MMO and put it there.
