So has this feature been turned off in QR? Because ever since the patch i've not been able to open the monitor.

Same here. Even if I assign it another shortcut, it doesn't work.

The monitor is no longer available outside our internal development and quality assurance teams. Out of curiosity, what are you using it for?

I use it to see performance. Another stealth nerf? Why would you need to be secret squirrel with that one? Afraid too many people would see the absolute horrid performance with this stupid patch???

Does CCP even have a QA team (That would be QUALITY ASSURANCE), or do you just do a little programming and then send it out?

I used it to look at outstandings and traffic during laggy fleetfights. It helped alot knowing that the command was sent and that I shouldn't keep spamming warp/fire or anything else.

I also use this to monitor incoming and outstanding traffic to see if i have lost connection. please return this to the user.

This feature is good to know how much commands you have going outbound and how much data you have coming to you. Its also good to know how much ram your client is using. (like this memory leak currently)

Please return it to the game.

Signed back and forth

Why on earth remove this feature?

i also would like to point out the fact that besides simply monitoring, u were able to uncheck both root cache and memory mapping

which was particularly helpful with smooth gameplay and fps

bring it back ASAP

Didnt know about this, however as it only works client side I cant see the reason to remove it. It seems really usefull, especially for checking youve attempted to activate modules and nothing happens.

Extremely usefull indeed!!!!!!

Used to monitor my connection, specifically to see if my packets were reaching the server and vice versa in case of desync/disconnect.

Would be nice to see it return.

As many already have mentioned, it was nice to check when things got laggy, also i liked the reset button, had the feeling that it made things smoother after playing for a while, even though i never quite understood what it did :P

So it was removed intentionally? That's odd. It was just a simple, harmless debugging tool; something I used frequently for various purposes.

I'm sorry, what game are the dev team working on if they don't know what we use the monitor for?

Honestly?

I tried to open it since I wanted to see the memory usage with all the memory leak threads. Plus seeing that your client is still receiving "some" data is always good to know.

Maybe remove some of the other pages, but please, return the first page with memory usage and network statistics, it was useful sometimes.

The ctrl+alt+shift+m panel has been said to re-sync players that have desynced. I doubt that it actually does anything.

This is a myth, the reset button that is supposed to fix that does nothing else then reset the little counters that are on that page. But that doesn't make it any less useful.

He's right. Much like the goggles, the reset does nothing.

tbfh I used it to argue the finer points of "our server logs do not detect that there was any lag" in conjunction with wire shark which usually gave the copy and paste answer of "I'm sorry but we cannot provide any details about our internal network and will close this petition".

It was also nifty to look at.

BTW, I still know I was right, and someone got scared that I knew more than them, and closed my lag reimbursements :)

While we're on the subject of asking questions that are obviously double edged here, why not just say what exploit was "fixed" by disallowing us the usage of this window? Trying to ask all stealth like in such an innocent manner is highly telling. >_> Social engineering ftl?

The monitor was a great tool to find out the memory deltas of the client. Especialy when running multiple clients it came more then handy.

So CCP, I suggest you get it back in there.

....

but I think we should get used to it like its now, and figure out how to reenable it ourself. I don't think they completely removed it, but simply disabled it, so there must be an option to reenable it anythere. (prefs.ini maybe?, some sort of setting file?, but maybe only my RAM module has some sort of error reporting the wrong values back at the right location ;) )

What memory deltas? Since when you know anything about internals of EVE? You got source code? What leaks? If just client cache settings are in terms of small, extreme and so on, you will never know how big your cache really is and how exactly it works and what is happening at all between clients. Good they removed this tool, at least there will be less whiners misinterpretting what it shows.
