Community Beat for 23 October
Welcome back, everyone, to another Community Beat! The past two weeks have given us plenty to watch, read, and talk about, with alliance leaders sharing their stories, CSM hopefuls making their cases, and a particularly expensive contribution to the wreck population. Thanks for that extra incentive, Blood Raiders!
We’ve also got the Alliance Tournament finals approaching and some excellent opportunities to enjoy them alongside your fellow capsuleers.
Move over, Quafe, it's a Starsi Blast week. Let's get into it!
Tournament Fever
There’s something special about Alliance Tournament season. The preparation, the theorycrafting, the moment a match turns on a single beautifully timed play. And let's face it, the infamy for finding the edge of glory and boundary violating.
The Alliance Tournament XXII finals take place on 31 October and 1 November, with 16 teams all vying for the top spot. The prelims were back and forth, with some of the highest quality matches we've ever seen. But theyr'e not the only ones competing! If you're not on a team but still interested, we are also running an ATXXII Predictions Contest. Create a Challonge account, head to the page here, fill out the complete bracket with your predicted winners, and select who you think will ultimately take the tournament. There's a War For New Eden Veteran set and 10,900 PLEX up for grabs, so don't miss out!

This year you can enjoy the action with a room full of fellow spaceship enthusiasts at Confetti X in Nottingham. Fenris is bringing the broadcast to a live studio audience, making this a great opportunity to meet other players and cheer on your favorites in person. We'll have the entire Fenris broadcast crew there: FC Zelus, FC Bee, FC Jotunn, FC Lumi, FC Convict, and FC Overload, all weekend long. Grab your tickets before they run out!
Can’t make it to Nottingham? There’s an Iowa meetup and watch party, too, sponsored by DomanarK and Rahne! The EVE Iowa meetup has been going on for 4 years, and this year they're timing it with the AT finals so you can watch no matter what side of the Atlantic you're on!

Bird's-Eye View
EVE's lore can be pretty daunting sometimes, but it doesn't have to be! EVE Partner Bill Paid has put together a comprehensive video exploring Caldari lore, the history of the mega corporations, and notable historical figures. The Caldari are more than just missile enthusiasts, and this video deserves a spot on your watchlist!
Yes, it’s more than two hours long, but you’ve gotta listen to something while finishing up that Crimson Harvest reward track!
There’s a lot of history behind the ships and factions we encounter every day, and projects like this are a fantastic way to get better acquainted with the universe we spend so much time in. Settle in for the whole thing or enjoy it in smaller installments.
History in the Making
EVE's history is more than the lore of the universe, it's something which is constantly being written by players. Each corner of the universe has a different story to tell, and EVE Partner Galaxier has been sitting down with alliance leaders to hear theirs.
We were particularly taken with his interview with Fox 2A, the leader of Itty Bitty Asteroid Committee, a newer alliance making its home in the Drone Regions. It’s always exciting to see a new group finding its place in New Eden, and these conversations give us a chance to meet the people behind the alliance tickers.
If you enjoy learning about the different communities that make EVE tick, give this one a watch. While you’re there, explore the rest of Galaxier’s work, too. His Weekly Recap series is a great way to catch up on the biggest battles and find out just what’s going on in this great big universe we call EVE.
Kurator The Ballot is Primary!
Speaking of interviews, CSM elections are here!
There are 53 candidates standing for the 21st Council of Stellar Management, and most have been spending time in the interview chair. Schadsquatch, Kshal Aideron, Federation Front Line Report, Pando, The Untethered Podcast, and Ceema’s This EVE Life have put a tremendous amount of work into helping you get to know the players asking for your vote.
These interviews are useful for learning about candidates and their priorities, but one of our favorite parts of the process is the conversations they start. Put passionate EVE players talking about the game and you’ll hear different experiences, thoughtful ideas, and probably something you’ll still be discussing with your corpmates later that evening.
With 53 candidates, getting started can feel a little daunting. FC Swift and FC Lumi sat down to chat with candidates giving them 10 minutes to make their best pitch, so find the candidates that speak to you, give them a listen, and then explore their community interviews to refine your choice. You don’t need to be an expert in every corner of New Eden to have a voice in its future, but you do need to vote!
EVE is a huge game known for massive numbers, and it’s easy to forget that one pilot can make a difference. The CSM is no different - just last year, some of the later voting rounds were decided by single-digit margins.
Voting closes at 11:00 UTC on 3 November. Take some time to meet the candidates, then make your voice heard. And you can flaunt a very cool character portrait background to brag to your friends that you voted!
Perfect Ten
On October 10th, one of the largest battles of the year took place in lowsec between Snuffed Out and WinterCo. Snuffed Out are known for doing everything in style, and this fight in Obe was no different! In all, nearly 40 titans died, valued at nearly 7 TRILLION ISK. Wow!
Everyone's favorite semi-accurate reporter, Warlock Industries, managed to get footage of the massive brawl.
When fights hit this scale, the numbers can be truly astounding. A total of 666.4 million damage was done in the fight, with titan doomsdays dealing the most carnage with a whopping 300.4 million damage!
Kalayavan Medellin’s Vanquisher took 27.5M damage from 748 pilots before going down, the first Vanquisher to die since Snuffed took out Fraternity's Vanq back in November 2024.
Turboencabulator Repairman, flying an Apostle, managed to repair a grid-leading 996,299 HP. Make sure you're on the top of his watchlist!
JADE DRAG0NESS's Avatar from Snuffed Out led damage dealt with 4.15M damage done. And we're really grateful for that, because the pilot who did the 2nd most damage was another Avatar piloted by...Magic Buttplug.
A big salute to everyone who undocked and helped make it happen. Those beautiful ships do look particularly good in space, even when their return trip involves the cloning bay.
Sky’s the Limit!
If all that destruction has you itching to sharpen your own PvP skills, the Faction Warfare Yearbook 2026 should be your next stop.
With over 100 pages covering frigate fits and PvP matchups, it’s an extraordinary amount of knowledge assembled into one resource. Taking your first steps into Faction Warfare? It’s a fantastic introduction. Already comfortable in a frigate and looking to push your piloting further? There’s plenty here to keep you busy, too.

Knowing what your ship can do is one thing. Things get interesting when you understand how the meta has shifted, recognize favorable matchups, and turn that knowledge into decisions on grid.
We’ll happily go on record: this is the single best piloting resource out there, hands down. Huge shoutout to T Sky for compiling this amazing resource. We strongly encourage you to give it a read, pick something to practice, and undock. The next lesson may still come with a loss mail, but you’ll have a much better idea of what to try afterward.
Putting the Meet in Meatspace
We’ve just wrapped up another successful round of EVE London and EVE Vegas meetups and it was awesome to see you all in person and meet some new friends. In our latest NERDS podcast, the gang shared some info from both events, and some interesting suggestions for future achievements. If you missed out, there are still plenty of opportunities to get together!
Alongside the Nottingham and Iowa tournament gatherings mentioned above, EVE Amsterdam returns on 6–8 November. These meetups are a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends, put faces to familiar voices, and discover how quickly a room full of EVE players can turn any conversation into a spaceship story. FC Karkur will be there with her black book of Little Things, so don't miss out!

Whether it’s your first meetup or your fifteenth, consider joining in. A huge thank you to the organizers and sponsors who make these gatherings possible.
That’s it for this edition of the Community Beat! Thank you to everyone creating videos, sharing knowledge, organizing events, and giving the rest of us something to talk about.
And remember: Crimson Harvest is still in full swing. With 90% PvP loot drops outside highsec and a 50% implant drop chance from destroyed pods everywhere, there are plenty of pilots taking a very professional interest in your fittings—and your head.
Enjoy the festivities, keep an eye on d-scan, and we’ll see you in space.
