Reimbursement Information for Pilots Who Pre-Ordered the Levitating Nyx

2018-03-27 - By CCP Falcon

As per the announcement made on February 13th in this news item, the Levitating Nyx Project has been cancelled due to repeated delays and uncertainty regarding a delivery timeline.

We’re incredibly disappointed that the project couldn’t be brought to fruition. We share both the frustration and the disappointment that this has caused the community after you gave so much vocal support for the project and put in your pre-orders.

It’s become apparent over the course of the last few weeks that members of the community who paid deposits for the Levitating Nyx are receiving no response from Project TriForce regarding refunds for their pre-orders.

You’re not alone. While attempting to resolve the situation and ensure that the community is reimbursed, CCP has also experienced communication issues with Project TriForce. That’s why we have come to the decision to offer refunds in the form of PLEX for all $100 deposits that were paid for the Levitating Nyx.

To be clear, CCP has received no share from the pre-orders that were paid by members of the community. The only payment CCP received from Project TriForce was a small advance against future royalties as part of the license agreement.

Community is the most important part of the EVE Universe and as such, we will reimburse everyone who pre-ordered a Nyx with our $100 PLEX package (2860 PLEX). Our community comes first above all else, and we want to make sure that things are set right.

For this to happen, we’ll need those who pre-ordered to contact us with some information so that we can verify their pre-order. Please find details below.

__Please note: __

We are aware that several members of the community paid the full $1,800 price for the Levitating Nyx up front. Unfortunately, we can’t assist with reimbursement of the full cost, one of the reasons being that we don’t have sales data from which we’d be able to verify these purchases.

Those pilots who paid the full price for the Nyx in advance will need to deal with Project TriForce directly to have a full reimbursement processed.

Naturally, we will also provide the $100 reimbursement via PLEX to the handful of pilots who find themselves in this situation.

Reimbursement Information:

Here’s when and how reimbursements of the $100 pre-order payments will occur:

  • Reimbursements will be made in the form of 2860 PLEX, with a value of $100.
  • Reimbursement requests will need to be received by CCP before Friday, June 1st, 2018.
  • All reimbursements will be paid out together into pilots PLEX vaults on Monday, June 4th, 2018

This gives pilots plenty of time to get information together and deliver it to us, even if they’re not presently active in EVE.

How to Request Reimbursement:

When placing pre-orders, pilots will have received an email receipt that contains a code for redemption of the exclusive Nyx “Umbral” SKIN as part of the pre-order deal.

Those who would like a refund will need to send the code that they received, along with the receipt for their pre-order and the following information to communityteam (at) ccpgames (dot) com.

In this email, we require the following information:

  • Redemption code for the Nyx Umbral SKIN
  • Full name
  • Country of Residence
  • Character name that will receive the PLEX
  • This email needs to come from the address verified with your EVE Online account.

Once we receive this email, we’ll pull together the information and send out a reply once we’ve verified your pre-order. All reimbursements will then be made together on Monday, June 4th 2018.

__Please note: __

Reimbursements will be made on a first come first serve basis. If you have handed your redemption code off to a third-party, we may be unable to verify the original person who made the pre-order. In this instance, the PLEX reimbursement will go through to the first person who contacts us via email.

We appreciate that needing to cancel this project has been a bitter blow to the community, but after repeated delays it became clear that this was the only course of action.

We apologise unreservedly for the cancellation of the project, and hope that we can set things right by taking on the reimbursement of pre-order fees ourselves directly.
