The Algos, as is custom with the Gallente, relies on swiftness of action - preferably at a respectable distance - to accomplish its goals. In this it reflects well-honed Gallente values, which include taking independent action without taking forever to wait for a committee decision, and also doing so, if at all possible, in a fashion that allows for a nice, safe buffer for immediate retreat; because theory is one thing, and practice is sometimes quite another.
Unlike most other Destroyers, the Algos provides bonuses to two kinds of weapons: Hybrid Turrets and Drones. Capable of launching up to 2 Medium Drones and 1 Light at once, or 5 Light Drones together – combined with providing a hefty bonus to Drone damage, this ship is capable of remaining far from its targets while sending Drones up close to tear into them, with the option to also fit Railguns or Blasters for additional DPS and protection.
The Algos is a powerhouse for running Level 1 and 2 Security Missions when properly piloted, providing immense flexibility in its damage types dealt through being able to swap its Drones to whatever faction’s weapons systems are most ideal for a combat encounter – but can also present a grave threat to other Capsuleers in PvP combat among other fleet members, staying out of range and dealing damage from afar alongside others with clouds of Drones.
